Not all businesses have to have separate tax IDs.

You could apply as a Sole Proprietor, and enter your SSN as your tax ID.

Wow.

Where's the 150k points offer for $50K spend.

And of course this sort of offer would probably still work for some FT'ers.

I applied for this card a few months back when they had the same offer...just used my SSN and filled it out as an Sole prop and was instantly approved...but i did already have other Amex cards, one being the bus SPG card.

Now, if only they would give this offer for the plat bus or or plat personal, i'd be all over it.

Oh wow! But was your 100K offer targeted, or was it available to everyone?

I've heard of people being targeted for the 100K Business Platinum offer...just wanted to see if there have been open offers in the past for 100K MR points.

Thanks again.

A relative wants to participate but is in the middle of a heloc-has amex for 30+ years-does this application result in a hard pull? I know it doesnt affect personal credit report as far as a credit line.
No speculation please-only those that have had the inquiry appear or not.

Yea I got one of these last year just by calling and providing a Code ID 6628 or something like that. Right away 100K. Easiest 100K I made.

Although AMEX weighs your issuer usage and history HEAVILY in approvals compared to most other companies, they still will do a hard pull.

An EIN is not required.

An EIN, however, may reduce the level of questioning should you not receive instant approval about the legitimacy of your business, as not having an EIN pretty much means small business with no employees.

Revenue?

What are people putting for business revenue? On other business cards, there is usually only just one field, so you can list personal income as revenue (which is what I do for my sole proprietor side business). But Amex asks for business revenue and personal income. Do I list personal income for both, or do I list "0-49,999" for business and my actual income for income? Any thoughts/tips?

Edit: If it matters, I do have an EIN

I went as sole prop, 0-49k, approved. I have no business. I was approved on previous 1 day deal.

Maybe it's because I went in as an existing account holder with Amex, but they didn't ask me for a revenue number. I also didn't enter an EIN.
