Reminder: you must enroll and select AS as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase. Click HERE to enroll.
As of June 2017 gift certificates are no longer reimbursed. Link to buy gift certicates

According to this thread in the Alaska forum the reimbursement of Alaska Club memberships is no longer a problem. To see how much of your annual credit you've used, log in to AmEx, select the card in question, choose "Membership->Benefits" off the menu bar, scroll down to see the travel credit benefit. (with thanks to Lumpylump76)

Tickets cancelled within 24 hours are refunded back to the card used for the purchase. Tickets for travel dates > 60 days out can be deposited to your wallet when cancelled (this has not been true for some time). Change fees may apply depending on your status. Change fees are waived for MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75k members according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ID:MileagePlan (expand "service benefits" towards the bottom of the page). The wallet funds will expire one year after the issue date of the original ticket.

I've been trying for several days to purchase the gift certificate but it keeps erroring out. I've tried different browsers and I tried not being logged in, as well as both paper and email certs, although later in the process it asked me to log in and then errored out.

I'll try it again and see if I can complete a purchase without creating an account.

Why would they want people with accounts not to be able to purchase gift certs? The error message says the error has been logged, and I think it has been failing for at least a week. Sheesh.

When you get to the screen asking you to log in; DON'T. That worked for me. Very odd glitch.

I was actually going to wait for a fare sale that I want to jump on before getting a credit, but in light of the $hit hitting the fan with Serve, I decided to just get this today

I purchased 4 x $50 Alaska Gift Certificates mid December on the same day, but still no credit? Anyone else in the same boat? going on three weeks now.

Should not have done on same day.

Even as separate transactions, $200 on a single day can be problematic.
