Reminder: you must enroll and select AS as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase. Click HERE to enroll.
As of June 2017 gift certificates are no longer reimbursed. Link to buy gift certicates

According to this thread in the Alaska forum the reimbursement of Alaska Club memberships is no longer a problem. To see how much of your annual credit you've used, log in to AmEx, select the card in question, choose "Membership->Benefits" off the menu bar, scroll down to see the travel credit benefit. (with thanks to Lumpylump76)

Tickets cancelled within 24 hours are refunded back to the card used for the purchase. Tickets for travel dates > 60 days out can be deposited to your wallet when cancelled (this has not been true for some time). Change fees may apply depending on your status. Change fees are waived for MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75k members according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ID:MileagePlan (expand "service benefits" towards the bottom of the page). The wallet funds will expire one year after the issue date of the original ticket.

Data point: Purchased two separate $50 gift certificates on the same day, Monday 7/14. Statement reflects, "Alaska Air Gift CertSeattle WA". Two separate reimbursements posted on the following Thursday, stated, "AMEX Airline Fee Reimbursement".

This is an interesting data point:

Purchased 4 X $50 giftcards Sept 8 (posted as a single $200 transaction) - no credit applied so far

Purchased 1 ticket with AS Companion Voucher from AS Visa Sept 12.
Sept 18 - received Amex Credit for the Tax/Fees on the Companion voucher - which was the only amount separately listed on the Amex transactions (although my AS receipt shows the amount as exactly $1 more!)

Purchased 4 x $50 (single transaction) 9/3, no credit applied yet. Will wait another week or so 1 x $50 x 4 over separate transactions.

Since my 4 X $50 didn't get credited at all, I tried a single $50 GC.

Purchased: Sept 20
Credited: Sept 26

Time to buy another one!

Bought it online On 11/1. Shows up like this.

Alaska Air Gift Cert Seattle WA - $50

First few days i had a separate pending txn that read AK Air $1.00 or something, I assumed that was the credit about to post. That second entry disappeared and no credit yet. Was trying to get my statement credit for 2014 but am not optimistic and can't change the airline until January now.

No, that was Alaska Airlines verifying that your card account is valid. Many online merchants do this.
