This looks like a good idea. Anyone know how to view how much of the $200 I have left?

For me it worked fine with buying United MILES.... also got repaid for the remaining balance of the $200 for TAXES of an United award ticket...

Both things are prohibited, but amex paid them immediately after few days...

Not sure if it works also for others?

I was refused reimbursement for the companion fee while paying with my Am Ex Platinum card for a priority pass United Club visit

They said it had to be a UA or United Club charge and not PP.

On another note, I plan to use the card to pay the baggage fees for my son as he is moving back to the US from abroad (about 3-4 boxes or duffles). The ticket was purchased with points, not the Am EX card. Should that matter?

No. As long as he is flying on an airline that you have registered with Amex.

I have a personal trip on UA so decided to buy $100 GC to use on my trip. Purchased on Tuesday 6/12 and still no reimbursement. I'm assuming Amex has stopped reimbursing us for GCs? My earlier charges this year and last hit the next day. I'm kicking myself for not taking the entire $200 earlier this year and only using half.

I assume the recent notice from Amex about the airline fee reimbursement program means they are enforcing the charges?

I'd wouldn't throw in the towel just yet. utpharmdoc stated in post 185 that gift cards purchased just 8 days before you and got reimbursed.

Agreed, I'd give it another couple of days. When I did my US gift cards, the transaction was shown as pending for a couple of days, then finally hard-posted to the account. I was reimbursed for the full $200 48hrs later.

You guys are right, just got the $100 credit today. In the past, the credits have come the next day so just took a few days longer.
