Where to transfer my Amex rewards

Hey everyone - this may have already been answered a million times, but I'm getting about 100K points from a relative, and I'm trying to figure out the best bang for the buck.

I have a CO OnePass account with about 240K that I could transfer into, or I could go with a hotel partner (Hilton, Starwood, etc.), or I could get a gift card, or I could just use it to buy a flight.

Any thoughts?

Thx!

You're right. There is a post right below yours that asks the same question with almost the same words.

True, but it's talking specifically about the different airline rewards - my question is broader.

Welcome to Flyertalk. No Membership Rewards redemption option even approaches the value of transferring to an airline frequent flyer program IF you subsequently redeem the miles for otherwise expensive tickets, such as international business or first class. Economy class airline tickets may also deliver good value if you redeem on a route with high fares due to insufficient competition.

Used for airline tickets you should return more than $0.02 per point. The Pay with Points program values points at $0.01 ($0.0125 for Platinum and Centurion cardholders.) Merchant gift cards offer $0.01. American Express gift cards offer $0.005. (Except during temporary promotions.).

Transfers to hotel programs are more difficult to value because hotel rates vary widely by location and date, but American Express sets the transfer rates low to protect their own hotel brand affinity cards.

Mia - thanks for the math - very helpful. OK, so I'll probably transfer to CO, unless another airline is offering major bonuses and looks good.

welcome to flertalk! you may want to do a seach before asking a broad ranged question. How ever that depends on what you want to do with the points. Biggest bang for the buck well it is an airline award of course in a premium class. How ever knowing what Airline program to put them in is the real question need answerd. That acorse depends on where you want to go.
With a little more info it would help in giving you the answer you are looking for.

I agree with most that Airline transfers are generally the best conversion, especially with the current 50% Delta and 40% BA bonus promotions. Since you mention that you have ~240K CO, the current promos may not be of interest. Unless there is a reason that you need to spend the points right away I would just bank them for now and wait for a promo that fits your needs better.
