What others have said ... I have enjoyed using it on entry at CDG. They do ask for my boarding pass and I just give them my arrival boarding pass and tell them the truth -- need a cup of coffee, check e-mail. They seemed to appreciate the revenue and whoever was checking all the stuff they were meticulously recording further upstream evidently was not balking at paying.

(Pointless now however -- this was when US was using *A lounge and PP lounge was there, too. *A was unbending about terminal arrivals, so PP was a great port in the storm. Now US and AA in same terminal, so Admirals Club ...)

The Club at CVG New Priority Pass Lounge on 11/17

I just received notification that The Club lounge in CVG will become a Priority Pass lounge on 11/17. This will be a nice alternative when I'm not flying DL, now that other airlines are starting to fly from CVG. Does anyone know what food and beverage options are available?

I'm confused. What does this have to do with AmEx?

I expect it would be substantially similar to the others.

Does the lounge provide any refreshments?
Complimentary refreshments are available to all guests and include light snacks, bottled water, juices, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. In addition, individuals can pick up food from one of the dining establishments within the terminal and bring it with them into the lounge.

Priority Pass thru Amex not honored at SFO?

I'm looking at the list of lounges on the Amex Priority Pass page and it lists 3 United lounges at SFO. But clicking on each lounge there is a disclaimer that PP cards issued thru a financial institution will not be allowed access. Can anyone verify this?

It's just for United lounges in the US. Priority Pass Select isn't eligible.

The UA lounges are only useful for people holding Amex Plat not from from the US. For instance, my Canadian Amex Platinum can get into the lounge.

What was curious to me was, one of the perks of the Amex Plat U.S. is a membership in Priority Pass, complete with membership card and all.

I never had occasion to use it since we usually fly DL and have a separate Sky Club membership as well. So I went to the Amex Platinum website, logged in, found the link about membership to Priority Pass and entered SFO into the lounge search feature. It came up with 3 lounges but when you click on each lounge, there was the blurb about not valid for cards issued by financial institutions.

So why does Amex lead me to a list of lounges that we don't have access to? Just curious, it's our first time flying United and it would be nice to know in case we get stuck.

American Express and Priority Pass are separate companies. American Express is simply sending you to the Priority Pass website. You have a Priority Pass Select membership. Select excludes all United Club locations.

This restriction is not unique to American Express, it applies to all Priority Pass memberships paid for by any USA-based credit card issuer.

I'm not sure if this is new or has always been this way, or if it's already been shared elsewhere in the forum, but on a recent insert in a US Centurion mailing, I noticed the following text:

"We've also expanded your Priority Pass Select benefit to include complimentary guest privileges to ensure you and your travel companions can relax away from the busy terminal."

It is written as if it is a Centurion Member benefit. Note that it refers to companions (plural), and it does not specify how many, but certainly does not appear to be restricted to a single guest.

I don't have experience trying to get a guest into a Priority Pass lounge because my husband has his own PP card as well, but this could be a useful addition for many.

Interesting. Would be nice if this was expanded to Platinum members as well, though it does seem like AMEX is trying to widen the gap between Platinum and Centurion (this, and GoGo wi-fi)...

The USA Platinum site still shows a charge for all guests:

Priority Pass Select:
Most lounges allow you to bring guests for a fee of $27 per person, which will be charged to your Platinum Card. Due to processing, charges may not appear on your account statement for up to 60 days
...but Citi Prestige, which is priced to compete with Platinum, now includes Priority Pass Select with two free guests, and it may be only a matter of time before American Express feels obliged to match this. They should have good data on how often cardholders use Priority Pass and how often they bring guests. Usage and guesting should increase if the guest fee were removed, but they still should be able to project what it would cost them, and I doubt they would pay the full $27.

Read this too and was just about to ask the same question as it's a little vague, maybe Mia can chime in with a clarification. I'm in the same situation, spouse has her own PP card but I've ate that $27 fee several times when traveling with co-workers. Is it just a single guest or two guests or my whole team?
