Earning EQMs to TLV?
Need to plan a June trip to TLV. It seems very hard to earn AA eqms heading there. Leaving from EWR/JFK and returning to WAS. BA looked nice until I realized anything but full fare coach earns less than 100% eqms. Any advice on how to maximize earnings?

If you book through AA.com, it should give you AA coded flights as the first options. Not sure your dates, but there are some mid-week departures and returns all on AA marketed itineraries for about $1100. Even i it's operated by BA or El Al, if you buy an itinerary with the AA flight numbers, you'll earn EQM and EQD as if it's on AA metal.

Is it just me or is it not possible to search flights to TLV on aa.com? It gives me a "we didn't find a match" error when searching. I used Kayak to search and clicked through to book on aa.com and was able to do it, but no way to get the same flights searching aa.com.

Again, just be careful that the flights you are booking do not have other airlines' codes on them if you're looking for full EQM. Even though you're booking through AA, if you're booking a ticket with a BA or LY code, you will not earn full EQM for those segments.
I'm not sure why AA was acting funky for you, though. My first try is gave me several options under "American Airlines" only. Very weird!
Whether through the AA site directly or through Kayak, I would just double check that all the flights, each segment, is booked with an AA flight number.
