First, a hearty welcome to Executive Platinum status!
New Executive Platinum members, whether "self-made", via your Concierge Key nomination or made by AA offers, including challenges, to similar status holders from competing airlines, often have questions about how the program works.
Feel free to post your questions here, but also be aware many of your questions about American Airlines, AAdvantage and Executive Platinum status can be answered in these resources:

Post #51 (by flyerbobflyer) got me thinking. He qualified with 62500 EQM on 120 segments - or 521 MPS (miles per segment) - admittedly very low.
When I requalify in a few months, I will have 102,901 EQM in 24 segments, or 4288 MPS - seems very high.
So, who out there has a higher MPS ratio that that?

No problem. If you don't want to wait, submit the above and give a call to AA Customer Service - from past experience, they will update your account and apply the missing miles/points instantly.

Interesting statistic. I hadn't calculated mine before. I'm at 3,995 MPS right now, but will end the year around 4,800.

303,195 EQM / 68 EQS = 4,458 MPS
It should be much higher... as I fly out of SFO quite a bit, I'm forced to connect through either LAX or DFW, which kind of kills my MPS.

Same for me, but SJC-LAX, then onto international. Done 8 of these so far this year, so subtracting 16 for R/T's my segments would be 44-16 = 28 / 249,146 = 8898 MPS.

Well over the limit (again) for EXP in 2018, just considering now whether to bother again in 2018 or just use lifetime Plat in 2019 as need be going forward until AA stops devaluing things - or maybe even adding some value to the program. 4 SWU's and the CX F lounge are nice...but...
The major reason I can come up with for the effort is CX's 'informal' PE upgrade policy from coach for OW top tiers...and that might just be enough.
I never thought DL could be beat in devaluing award miles - but I was wrong it appears with where AA stands now. It used to be a (relatively) good program - but that is becoming more and more just a distant memory.
Seems like the bennies are getting fewer, but the effort is getting harder. Intentionally sending more of my business - and CC spend - into DL and WN seems like the better move - but YMMV.
3140 MPS for me this year...FWIW...too many Asia trips...

Also, who has a lower MPS than 521!

Mine is up there, although it has already been shown that others have much higher ratios than this. I requalified at 4,718 MPS since most of my itineraries generally start and end with SCL-DFW. Those darn short transcons worked against me!
After qualification, I'm down to 4,302 MPS thanks to some shorter intra-SA flights - 141,971 over 33 segments.
