Combined 2017 AA International Meal / Meals - menu / photos / etc. (master thread)

I have an upcoming trip on the Chicago-London day flight in Y. I was wondering what to expect in terms of mealtimes - when during the flight should I expect refreshments/food?

brewdog11 Jun 15, 2016 9:23 pm

There will be a "Flagship" (aka main) meal service right after takeoff. You can usually expect to be served your entree after a round of drinks, usually about one hour into the flight. Another round of drinks will be offered with the meal.

For a flight of this length, there will likely be another lighter meal service, though I can't comment as to what/when it is.

The main meal, brunch, will be served shortly after takeoff, with drinks served as the previous poster described. The *light* meal, usually a hot sandwich- or pizza-type concoction on daytime TATL flights, will be served shortly before landing.

OP is in Y. Y's get their main meal after t/o and probably 2 sets of snacks (which might include a sandwich and/or cookie) later on. J class gets the "nice" hot stuff before landing.

As indicated if the OP is in economy they will be served the main meal approx. 30 mins to an hour into the flight, usually consisting a meat or veggie offering with a hard bread roll, piece of cake and drink. About an hour before landing a light snack is offered i.e. yogurt and bag of dried fruit plus hot or cold drink. The mini pizza was tasty although I remember that was served on the west bound TATL journey.

The OP is on the daytime flight, which means brunch right after takeoff and a light snack prior to landing.

Ah my mistake the times and offerings I gave were examples of a night flight. Doh.

This link seems to indicate that the ORD-LHR (specifically!) daytime service gets a heated four cheese pizza for the second light meal, at least for the month of June. So it seems likely that the second meal is usually some hot dish.

Thanks everyone for the information. Very helpful!

If you're planning on drinking alcohol, keep in mind that while beer (Sam Adams!) and wine are free, liquors are $7.

As an AA PLT, you get complementary access to the Admirals Club and a coupon for a premium drink (sorry if you already knew).

Would you be able to post the same document for AA 90 (ORD - LHR) in Business? Trying that for the first time later this year. I can see the 4 Breakfast Options that pop-up T-30 for the Main Meal but am interested in what they offer mid-flight and before landing.

Thank you!

Thanks. I usually take BA on this route so that will be an adjustment! Though not sure whether an 8am cocktail is what I'll feel like. Equally, I'm connecting in ORD so in terms of time elapsed it would be more of a lunchtime cocktail. :)
