Lordy...I hope they start pushing this forward soon (to the late summer / early fall timeframe)!

Also seems they finally loaded in the fares allowing awards to be booked with AA metal TPAC and onward QF flights. Those weren't showing for a while before (couldn't book to MEL as an example), but they are now showing all over Australia and New Zealand.

Hope this becomes a regular thing, especially around November and December.

But with the award chart change in March, maybe it won't be as attractive?

First is almost all gone. It's like locust has swarmed the award calendar.

5-6 blogs posted this simultaneously.

Let's hope they don't do this month by month, because after March the new mileage requirements take effect.

Woke up this morning in Australia to this great news - thanks ExpertFlyer alerts. Now my wife and I can fly back together, instead of on separate Qantas flights next week. This is definitely some kind of mistake - as I'm seeing U7 and Z2 on a number of flights that are already 50%+ full in those cabins. Do not expect this to be the norm.

I doubt it is a mistake, as a lot of Australia tickets, even in premium classes or for business travel, are booked well in advance. AA also won't get as strong bookings ex-Australia as it will ex-USA, so it will sell relatively few last-minute tickets ex-Australia. This is also a pattern I've seen on other routes.
