Switching BA metal to AA

I'm flying from MUC to LHR to LAX tomorrow. I'm on BA metal in paid biz class. Can I switch to AA somehow? Or is there a change fee involved? I didn't book the ticket and hate flying those coffin seats.

Edit.. It's an AA codeshare.. Booked on aa.com

You can of course switch, subject to a change fee and fare difference, if any. Call AA....

You can certainly switch. How much it will cost really depends on the fare you've purchased. One-way tickets from Europe tend to be full fare tickets which have less restrictive change rules, and you'd just have to pay any fare difference. Discount business, on the other hand, can have change fees between $300-$500 plus fare difference.

The only way to find out for sure is to call AA.

SDC is possible on LHR-JFK, but I don't believe it is possible on LHR-LAX. I also don't believe it's available on codeshares.

Yup. The rules are in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...solidated.html

SDFC between JFK and LHR is $150 for non-EP, in any case - though in this instance, it's not applicable.

Thanks. You're right. What a shame. I didn't even book the ticket and now have to fly coffin chamber with my wife.
Too bad.

Did you call AA and see though? Especially as you're in paid business, depending on the fare there could be zero change fee, and little if any fare difference. But you won't know unless you call.

Can you book or switch to center (aft facing) "honeymoon" seats?

What seats would those be?

AA waived the change fee but the difference in fare is 675 a ticket.
Not worth it.
