2016 Program Year Elite Status Buyback / Renew / Boost (consolidated)

In previous years, AA (and US) has offered those who failed to requalify for elite status the opportunity to buy back or "boost" status for the following status year. AA offers the program once again for c/y 2015 - status year 2016 (29 Feb 2016 - 28 Feb 2017 <sic>), as shown in a new FAQ on aa.com.

Q. How long do I have to purchase the offer?

Offers must be purchased by July 31, 2016, unless otherwise stated.

2016 Program Year Elite Status Buyback / Renew / Boost (consolidated)

Hello fellow flyers,

Does anyone know if AA will offer their Boost program again in the fourth quarter of 2015? This allows you to buy up to the next elite level if you are close to qualifying but don't quite make it. Last year for example AA offered PLT's with 85-90k EQM/EQP's to upgrade to EXP for $2,499. The more EQM/EQP's you had, the less it cost.

Thanks!

Nothing has been mentioned yet. And I don't think anyone here will now for a fact. I seem to recall this was offered a bit latter. if you are 15k short of EXP, there are numerous post regarding MR that can be done for a lot less that $2,499.00

Was wondering the same thing. Will be 780 EQP's short of re-qualifying for Platinum. That will hurt. There's just no opportunity for MRs.

The mileage boost offer has typically gone live in the second week of November. You guys are asking about a month too early. The reality is that anyone who knows definitively is not going to be at liberty to comment.

2.5 months left of travel and you can not find time to do a cheapo 1560 mile same day turn run? I would do my best to find one than hope for the buy up. It would be cheaper, besides, what if they do not offer the buy up?

Then I'm a 49,220 EQP AA Gold for 2016. Sucks but that's my reality.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't offered again this year. Prices will likely be exorbitant, but if you can't spare a weekend morning to fly BUR-PHX-BUR in F, then maybe it's worth it.

LAX - ORD, same day turn on November 18th can be done for $159. I'm doing two of those turns that week myself. Just trying to help. I bought them last week for less than that.

Wow. Unusual viewpoint on FT. I can't imagine ever being that close and letting it slip.

seriously. I find it hard to believe that guy doesn't have 24 hours of free time where he can do a quick ORD-LGA run or ORD-DFW...etc.

Plenty of short flights to cover 800 miles.

Of course my perspective is a little warped. I flew 50K BIS miles in the last 2 months of 2011 to retain EXP.

Almost certainly you're out of the country away from OneWorld airlines for the next 3 months, right?

Excellent point; hadn't even thought about that possibility.
