IRROPS Downgrade and Refund

For his latest downgrade I've had because of irrops I actually have info on what the flight cost when I purchased them. On the same date, I bought 3 people in J and one in Y for the same exact flights. AA messed up our cheques and can't get us to our destination until 1 day later and only in coach. Since I have the price difference when we purchased, how do I go about requesting an actual downgrade refund instead of the inane amount they usually refund? Thanks!

I would submit a refund request online: https://www.aa.com/refunds/en_US/refunds/lookup
