Use miles to fly JFK-LAX-LAS in F (32,500 each way) in Z class and you're golden. Personally, I'd do the LAX connection for the better seat even without Flagship Lounge access.

Cheers.
I clicked on the link. Not really very helpful. I am flying JFK-SFO F next month and found the AA website more helpful....

That's really strange: it's the first instance I see of an airline favouring customers of another airline over their own.

Just to clarify: I'm flying JFK-TPA on a O-class ticket. As a BA Emerald I'm entitled to use the FL?

Actually quite common in the US, where Lounge Access is sold as Club membership, and on internal flights this membership is what is used to grant access, status being irrelevant. Delta and UA have similar policies.

JFK: BA or AA First Class Lounge?

Using AA miles, I'm flying in F from JFK to Hong Kong on CX. I think the flight departs from T 8. Will I have access to either lounge? In a similar vein, returning from Beijing, I'm flying in F on AA. Is there a AA FL in Beijing?

Are you sure your CX flights departs from T8? I would've guessed that it departs from T7...

Regardless, you are traveling in F on a oneworld airline, and you may thus use any oneworld F lounge when you are traveling. If you are in T8, you would certainly be able to use the FL. But if not, T7 and T8 are not connected airside. There is a BA F lounge in T7, though I believe this isn't nearly as good as the FL in T8.

AA only has Flagship Lounges in JFK, ORD, LAX, and LHR. You can search for all oneworld lounges here. http://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-access/

For more information on lounge access rules, there is a help desk thread dedicated to this in the AA forum. For more information on specific lounges (which lounge is better in which airport, etc.) there are many threads on those too. Have fun!

It is better than the T8 FL...

The only drawback one may find is when flying in WT/WTP and not having access to hot buffet in Galleries lounge (as a CW pax) or pre-flight dinner in CCR (as an F pax).

I disagree. The Galleries First lounge in JFK T7 is inferior to the AA lounge with no real food options. The Concorde Room is a different story of course, but CX F pax do not have access to it. I don't know why CX hasn't worked something out with BA to allow the at most 6 F pax inside, at least during the hours that it's open before CX flights.

In LHR T5 Galleries First is a decent lounge so I'm not to miffed at BA's choice to get around the oneworld rules requiring F lounge access for Emeralds. In JFK it's pretty disgusting.

JFK T7 F lounge has better wines/champagne. As I mentioned in my earlier post if one is coming to the lounge to eat then T8 FL is, of course, better, however, I would not say that the options are anything to write home about. To me everything about T8 FL screams "cheap". I was hoping that with the JBA AA would upgrade it's FL offerings.

I agree. I don't think I have seen "real" champagne at the T8 FL, just sparkling wine.

My one complaint about the JFK Flagship Lounge

The Flagship Lounge at JFK is a very nice facility, a big step forward for American at Kennedy over the last couple of years.

My one complaint is the coffee, which is pretty awful.

For a time, there was a Maxwell House coffee machine, which produced a weak, essentially instant-coffee brew. Now, there's a Nescafe (as opposed to Nespresso) machine, which is not much better.

Given the major investment in this facility, I'm surprised American can't do better. You can't bring coffee and food into the lounge, so there's no alternative. There's a Starbucks in the distant terminal, but it's a 10-minute walk away.

A Londoner complaining about coffee? Next thing is you'll want them to warm your beer.

I have to agree about the coffee machine and I'm pretty sure the latte has sugar in it whether you want it or not. To be honest, I find the coffee in almost all the FS and AC lounges to be bloody awful.
