How long does it usually take the web site to reflect an upgrade to silver? I received the "You've been upgraded; new cards are on the way" email on Monday. Two days later the web site still shows my account as red. The awards activity page still shows the red level benefits.

I'm still getting the 10K annually on my anniversary, and I've started also getting the 10% rebate on award redemptions as well. It's a sock-drawer card for me, but even as low as I value my AA miles these days, 20K for an annual fee under $100 is a pretty sweet deal.

There is talk that AMEX and DL might change that, the only card to get the waiver would be the reserve card. But it would be nice of AA would do it also, and if they did, I doubt Silver card would be the one that would get the wavier, I'm thinking it would be the Citi Executive card.

I'm past the billing cycle. I was approved for an upgrade near the end of the last one, so the delay was supposed to be just a few days. The latest email said the upgrade was complete.

For confirmation you can on-site message them. You should get a response like: "...After review of your account, we can confirm that your account is eligible to receive 10,000 bonus miles every year on the anniversary of your account opening...please note, these miles are awarded at the close of the cycle in which your anniversary date falls..."

Just a quick note to say that I got my EQM around 16 days after crossing the threshold, in between statements. Much quicker than the six to eight weeks I expected.

Similar experience here. Statement ending 7.16.17 included the spend which crossed the $40,000.00 milestone. The 5,000 EQM's appeared 24 days later on my AAdvantage account.

The normal activity from the statement when I crossed the $20k spend threshold posted to my AA account on 7/3.
The 5k EQM posted to my AA account on 7/8.
I'm not exactly sure when in June I crossed the $20k spend, but this seems about right compared with past years. I've had this card since it existed, and the US card prior.

Any reason to keep the Citicard if I have this card too?
I was just approved for the BarclayCard Red AAdvantage card and it looks as though it has almost the same features as the Citicard Platinum Select. I'd rather not pay two annual fees, so I'm planning to cancel the Citicard as soon as I get the BarclayCard. Is there any reason to keep the Citicard other than the trip delay/interruption feature, which I don't care about particularly?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Well, if you rate the two cards the same, then keep which ever one you had the longest...for you credit history. The only advantage to keeping the Barclay's is if it converts to silver and all the bonuses that come with that. Another consideration: with Citi, you can open a card while still having one open...with Barclays you can't, though some lucky folks seem to be able to (that's rare, though).
I have plenty of cards with long credit histories, so I don't think that will be a problem either way.
BTW, is there any way to check how close I am to the end of the 24 month period that prevents another bonus from Citibank? I think I'm pretty close but I'm not sure exactly when that is up.

Thanks, but I guess I wasn't clear enough in my post. The question is whether I'm overlooking some feature of the Citicard or some drawback of the Aviator that means it would be a mistake to close the Citicard.

AFAIK, there's no way to look up when the 24 months is over, you have to track that yourself (I keep a spreadsheet for all that info). If you have statements going back that far, you can at least get an idea by seeing when you put spend on it the first time.
