I think the OP will get bumped to the next level of service called FLMC:
Free Last Minute Cancellations.

Getting so regular with AA it isn't funny I was flying the same route and day as a friend, he had the unfortunate AA tickets and get let behind till the next day while I made it hours early(got confirmed ticket on earlier flight) on CO.

I've flown 50K+ miles this year so far, and have had NO cancellations and just one late flight, an SFO-JFK redeye that arrived about 20 minutes late - b/c of SFO ATC holds.

In nine RTs this year I have had exactly 2 on-time arrivals. Been bussed twice and have had numerous 4+ hour delays.

i enjoyed the md 80 fiasco as well as an overnight in dfw courtesy of a broken 777 and a totally inept ground staff who could have moved 1/2 of us to the later lgw flight but as the purser said " that meant the ground crew chief would be late getting home". i hope you did not jinx yourself because imho you may be in the minority of frequent travellers on aa.

I've got another 70K miles booked this year - so we'll see. I think it could have something to do w/routes as I've been flying Transcons and TATLs rather than Mad Dogs thru DFW/ORD.

Doesn't help us at all to figure out why the OP wasn't re-invited to CK - but since the thread started turning into AA bashing, I thought it worth mentioning that not all flights are in fact late/canceled.

fyi, so far have two trips to europe, one to asia, one to mexico and a bunch of other stuff in the bank. not your basic mad dog flying. 51920 points and 47085 miles. going forward have exp purchased (points and miles ) without the double miles promotion.

you are correct it doesn't address the ck issue but it is relevant to post 17. good luck with the 70k.

Status higher than Ex Plat

I was having drinks with my old boss recently. He left our shop and became the US head of a major European investment bank. He was telling me that he flys AA everywhere (he travels paid F and probably travels internationally probably every week). He said that he had a secret higher than ExPlat status with AA (if he wants to get on a flight they will bump a paid passenger out of F). Has anyone ever heard of a special secret FF status? (By the way, Blumie used to work for this guy too).

Yup, sounds like ConciergeKey. It's not a "secret" program, but it is invitation-only. The next time you are in an AC, look closely at the nametags that the staff wear. Chances are that one or two of them will have badges that say "ConciergeKey" instead of the generic AC logo.

ConciergeKey is designed for people who generate an extraordinary amount of revenue for AA by influencing the purchasing decisions of others (travel managers, CEOs, etc.).

Some non-corporate folks can get CK status as well by virtue of the sheer amount of personal money that they spend on AA each year (such as by buying many full-fare International First class tickets).

Note that CK status is separate from the "VIP" designation that diplomats, politicians, celebrities, etc., receive from AA.

That's got to be it. I did a quick scan on the Concierge Key thread and this guy would fit. US head of an investment bank and he did say something about getting a special card.

Just to clarify, CK is not a status or level, it is a service .

These are the people who affect the travel of hundreds of others, such as heads of corporations who decide on company travel policy and so on.

The new VIP list will be a lot more exclusive than the previous one.
Any guess as to how many are in this VIP Connection program?

My husband and I just had an interesting experience. He is platinum and we were flying business to LHR. We were in our seats waiting for the rest of the plane to board. A man in a suit came up to use and said a name that was not ours. We corrected him and he introduced himself as a concierge and apologized for not escorting us to the plane. I guss they will come looking for you if they don't escort you. It was really strange, because we were the only people he spoke to.
