Also,is there extra peice of luggage or extra weight allowance for premier

AA Gold members and above whenever they fly 10,000 miles get 4 electronic 500-mile certificates. Each can upgrade flights for 500 miles distance.

Premier Executive members and above as well as Star Alliance members are allowed a third piece of luggage or additional weight. I'm afraind your being a Premier won't allow this perk for you.
So,region 1 is the flying distance within 500 miles ?
If I want to upgrade from JFK - LAX,the will need 5 of the 500 mile upgrade
certificates?

The certificate is only good for domestic or also international ?

Thank you

I think the post you quoted was about United, and has since been edited by the poster. Forget about region 1 - that is definitely not applicable in the AA world. The upgrades can be used domestically and for some "international" flights - see the list within the text here:

Yes, it would cost 5 upgrades from JFK-LAX.

AirDude I'm so sorry I have mislead you.

As you may notice per my answer I was under the impression this question came from another forUAm...

I did correct the answer but, apparently you picked the former one, prior to my posting the correction.

With AAdvantage you can upgrade flights in the US, Central America and the Caribbean...

Your given example JFK-LAX does require 5 e-500 mile certificates - though AA gracefully offers 50 mile, that is a 2550 mile flight would still require the same 5 certificates.

If you have any additional doubts do ask - I'll promise to pay attention where I'm posting.
