Chances are near zero; they've published the no soft landing rule change AND offered the (expensive) buy-to-retain. Double ANYTHING just cuts into the revenue...

I think AA has a target number of elites at each level that they want. If they need DEQM to fill these targets, they offer DEQM. With the US merger, newAA if anything, probably has too many elites, and so there is no need to offer DEQM at this time.

Any EQM promos in the immediate short term?

Have just over a month to get 4K miles...a business trip is a possibility, but it also may not happen due to the holidays. Is there any promos on the roadmap? Gotta know if I should book a last minute mileage run asap!

There is an 83% chance that there will be DEQM

And an excellent question that:

A. Hasn't been asked about a dozen times recently, and
B. Doesn't have any existing threads addressing it.

I wonder how that happened

Cheers.

My magic 8 ball says "no," but someone else's might say "yes."

I'd go with "no," as AA didn't experience anything unusual this year for which it must "apologize" and offer a DEQM promo (no MD-80 groundings, no work actions, no competitors DEQM promos, etc).

Actually there will be. It will be for Dec 31st only. So if you need 4k, just book a flight on Dec 31st for 2k miles RT and you will guarantee to have qualification

Given that there will be no soft landings this year, you probably should plan on booking a mileage run.

I've got a weekend run to LAX scheduled in two weeks. I need just over 3500 miles to requalify PLT, and HSV-LAX and back is just over 3600.

I can't believe nobody's asked about this before now.

There are also going to be the Elite-Status Boost and Elite-Status Renewals, both of which are described in this thread:

New ways to meet elite starting in January 2014

Both entail an outlay of cash and are variations on the buyback program AA has offered past years. You don't say which status you're trying to achieve, but 4,000 miles falls within the boost range for Gold, Plat, and EXP.

Any EQM promos in the immediate short term?

Such a shame Q1 of the recent poll isn't still open. What a perfect example of what some of us were discussing.

Search using Advanced Search, search 'titles only', search term "EQM"

Gives this as the 2nd result

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...solidated.html

That would be the best place to ask this question (or to see what answers, to that question, have already been given),

And with that, we'll merge the threads accordingly. Thanks! /Moderator
