American Airlines CEO Tom Horton announced AA's new branding going forward at 10 AM Eastern time 17 Jan 2013. His address about the new branding and 77W color scheme rollout can be seen here. N.B. Watch the entire video and go through the pages to enter a photo contest to win up to 1 million A miles. Also, link to AA news release.

AA now has some Boeing 777-323ER, 777-223ER, 737-823ER and 767-323ER in new livery.

I think I threw up a little in my mouth then cried a little. The body fine, they've gone for the Air France look, I don't mind. Looks pretty modern. But the tail... the tail... the tail...

Clearly, we are merging with US, I just hope Doug Parker doesn't get to run it.

I like the new logo and most of the livery. I think it looks fresh especially in comparison to UA's "new" branding. The logo reminds me of the new Mexicana one; let us hope AA's future is brighter than Mexicana!

The tail is a little ugly. I like the idea of what they were going for, but I think the end result is off.

First impression - it reminds me of Air France's look
