Airshow on 767-200 SFO-JFK in Y class

It says that on the 767-200 from SFO-JFK has At seat Tvs showing movies. Do they offer Airshow and the ability to listen to music with Airshow showing? It seems like they would have Airshow on these planes.

No, that's the 777-200's that have in-seat IFE with Air Maps and Gate Connect Info. The 767-200's, 767-300's, and refurbished 757-200's have the Air Maps that only show when the IFE is not active, are not in-seat, and the Gate Connect software is still not updated for a few years now, so connect info shows N/A most of the time.

The 767-200s do not have air maps. The domestic 757-200s also do not have them. Have been lucky enough to never have crossed the Atlantic in a 757 so can't say for sure whether that version of the 757 has them or not. Regarding gate connect not being updated, I was on a 763 flight from BCN to JFK last year that showed the AA terminals as 8 and 9!

The 762s do have wifi, and of course if you use the wifi you can view airmaps on flightaware.com and similar websites.

No, no, it's Antediluvian Airlines.

RxCapt, the 757 used for transatlantic is more comfortable, IMO, than the 767 in J - slightly wider seats. Only issue IMO is the winds aloft and range issue.

The 75Ls do have the airmaps but that would be of little comfort if I was stuck back in Y on a transatlantic flight. That is one AA experience that I plan to never have.

The 767-200s have some sort of map, even if it's not called an Air Map. The refurbished domestic 757-200s certainly do have an Air Map of some sort.

Regarding gate connect, I have yet to see it work on Domestic flights except on the 777-200.

It usually works on the 763 morning flight from LAX-DFW

I would consider the 75L if I could secure a J seat in advance but otherwise, the potential of an unscheduled fuel stop and the fewer number of seats available for mileage upgrades on the 75L vs. 763 are reasons to keep me away from the 75L.

On the many transcon flights on the 762 and 752 old & new I've been on, I have never seen the maps turned on. After they collect the players, The Office or other NBC shows are playing for the last 45 min of flight.

On the many 762s I've been on and domestic 757s I've never seen an airmap. The 763s have an older version of the Airmap, it looks like probably the first version ever put out (as with much of AA's equipment). The 777s and 75Ls have a newer version of the Airmap. And all of this is telling me I spend too much time in the air.

agreed. Stick to 777 and J. or just pull out the old Iphoen when you land and check flightaware. Gogo works well too

Its not too much longer than a transcon flight. I've done MAN-ORD in Y-wasn't too bad.

is "Airshow" the name of a specific in-flight entertainment system?
