What's the stupidest, least substantive thing you can complain about?
Thread founder Blumie had the following dedicatory post to kick off the original thread in June of 2010 to guide us, so we will take our cues from that to continue this hallowed FT-AA|A tradition. (FT Rules still apply.)
What's FT if not a place to complain about the small stuff? After all, we've seen threads in which people have complained about virtually everything, from the ceiling height at JAX to the font, ink and paper used to print boarding passes. So I thought I'd start what I hope will become the one of the most valuable and important threads in the history of FT, one in which we consolidate all of our complaints about stuff that just doesn't matter and that validates AA's decision not to have an official presence on this board.
I'll go first: I find it really annoying the way the napkins are fanned before being put out at the Admirals Clubs. Is this supposed to make us feel like the place is uber-fancy? Why don't they just forget about the fanning and put out some real napkins instead of the flimsy cocktail napkins they use?

From last night on a A320.
1) When they run out of Skinny Pop from the snack basket before it makes it to row 3
2) The footwells in front of 3D and 3F are narrower than the footwell/cubby space between the two,

Yes. Annoying.
TECH TIP: If you are on a PC, using Chrome or Edge, you copy the code by doing this:
1) Hover over the code you want to copy
2) Right mouse click, and select "Inspect"
3) Expand the node <span class="other-airlines operated-by">... by clicking on the triangle to the left of it
4) A few lines down you will see the partner confirmation code. Double click the code to highlight it, then right click and select COPY (or CTRL-C)
5) Hit the X in the top right of the developer window to close it, and get back to your normal AA view
You can now PASTE (or CTRL-V) into wherever.

See, easier than ever, and.... More engaging (more time with the page), educational ("inspect" - how it opens up the wonderful world of code, no more hiding behind some "slick" GUI),, and more visceral as a bonus.

On a recent DFW-LHR fight that I was going onward to JNB, I had requested an upgrade using a SWU. When I checked in with the gate agent he informed me that there were no seats available in J. He said that I should be fairly comfortable in Y because there were 84 empty seats and I was on the right side of the plane in a row all by myself. I thought that this would be perfect and to insure that I kept the empty seats, would he mind blocking the other 2 for me? He said no problem and showed me the seat map on his monitor with “my” row x’d out. He was a really nice guy.
Everything was going fine, but before boarding was complete a FA escorted a young lady up to “my” row and told her she was welcome to sit in the window seat. Naturally I was surprised because I saw that her Ipad showed 3x’s in “my” row and there were quite a lot of completely empty 3 seat rows available! I pointed out the fact that there were x’s on her ipad she questioned how I had done that. She said she had never seen it done before now. She mentioned it to another FA who then snarked, “ I can show him that I can do something to take them away”. I could have moved to an empty row, but I had already arranged a sleeping pad in the empty seats. I politely stood my ground and the young lady moved forward one by one to sit in another almost empty row.
I felt slightly abused by the FAs, especially the snarky one, since the cabin was so open and available. Is it ok to feel this way or is it something inconsequential? It all worked out as right before the doors closed the gate agent gathered me and my things and put me in a seat that came available In business!

4/19 I was on AA1231 MIA - TPA and the arriving crew was late to the gate causing a delay because they "just landed from an international flight and needed to clear Customs". Upon their arrival to the gate they all showed up with Chick-Fil-A bags as they casually stroll into the gate area. They also did not provide any beverage service in F while boarding (they were eating and chatting). An elderly woman needed help with her cane and a FA from the rear of the plane finally came up and helped her store it up front. The gentlemen next to me during the flight had to ring the call button twice to get the drink he asked for because she "forgot" despite taking his order with my own.
The crew could care less about helping anyone.
Lastly, while boarding the GA who worked the scanner rolled her eyes and made an extremely racist comment to the lady behind me under her breath because she barely spoke English. Not sure how to handle any of these complaints as they did not directly affect me.

1) When you search for award flights on the mobile app, and select Business,First in the search parameters, yet it returns all flights.
2) When you get all the results, and you cannot filter to just see business/first/premium economy
3) When you search fir awards in the main website, the calendar shows 75K awards on a certain date, and when you go to that date, there are no awards for 75K.

At SFO right now with a potential oil leak on the aircraft that should be taking me to JFK. One customer wanting to complain to me (why??) about the time it’s taking the engineers to check… 🧐
