Earning Aadvantage Miles on Jet Airways

Being a Aadvantage Platinum card holder, I was looking for some advice with regards to Jet Airways. I am going to be travelling from LHR-CCU in July and have the option of either using Jet Airways or British Airways to go to BOM and then get a domestic connecting flight. They are roughly the same price.

Looking at the Jet Flights, they are going to be on class K (international segment) and class T (domestic segment). However I don't see any mention of earning miles on the Aadvantage website on class K, even though Jet Airways is a codeshare partner.

The other option is British Airways, where I will get the Lounge Access and 25% of the miles travelled, which is doubled to 50% by the Platinum bonus.

My platinum status is due for renewal in Feb 2010 and I still have 14,000 miles to go. Although losing status wouldn't be the end of the world, I would be prepared to pay up to £100 to buy added miles to get to the required 50,000 miles.

So the question is... who do I fly with? I suppose if Jet gives me nothing, then its British Airways.

Concerning status, you will only get EQM if you fly Jet Airways on an AA flight number.

If you are flying on a Jet Airways flight number, as you noticed, only some fare codes earn miles, but none of those miles will be elite-qualifying, only RDM. K fare on Jet Airways earns no EQM and earns no RDM.

So you would be better off with BA, unless you are looking at an AA flight numbers, which I don't believe exists on Jet LHR-CCU.

On BA? No you don't get the loyalty bonus anymore...

And on Jet Airways codeshared flights, you can only book on the AA flight numbers if you are connecting in from an AA flight.

Jet doesn't fly CCU-LHR, so either way you would have to connect domestically.
