Does America Airlines has a super premier status, such as UA's Global Services?

Exactly. It has been discussed here, and is believed to exist. However, if you have to ask, you don't qualify and have no need to know about it :)

Do a search here for VIP and there is a bunch of information about VIP status - if you arent already one then you probably aren't important enough to be one - and that goes for me too :(

Yes, there is. Details of this program (including even its existence) are not public. I read about it on another website where very knowledgable AA users seem to feel more welcome than they do here.

Isn't there actually a thread on this sub-forum that specifically lists out the benefits of VIP membership? I think I saw that thread referenced in the thread about (the lack of) extra special benefits for 200K-300K BIS flyers?

Just a small point - but isn it America[b[n[/b] Airlines? Wasn't America Airlines the CIA's front for smuggly drugs into Cambodia?

Quite possibly. Some of the information in it may even be accurate.

Going back several years - at least two - i used to see VIP next to my name on the pax roster next to AC, EXP, etc.

The only services I think I received were meet and greets at LHR with the cart, and also transfers by van from T4 to T3 including being met at the base of the stairs on incoming BA flights parked at remote locations when connecting to AA.

I haven't checked recently as I notice that most of the time the pax list seems to be covered up or tucked away in the galley. However, back then I was doing 90 percent of my miles on AA metal, and since it is now the reverse - or close to it, i would doubt i would have the status.

I presume OP is actually asking something different - I think he/she wants to know if AA has a "Premium Services" department that handles VIPs (since he is referring to the UA program).

The answer to that is certainly "yes". You basically have to be a "real" VIP (like I witnessed certain celebrities being escorted around) to get any treatment above the EXP treatment - which includes being greeted at the plane, and whisked to your next connection, or given extra special super secret perks (and in some cases even given a security detail during transfers). On occasion Premium Services VIP folks have been known to take extra special care of some EXP's if they have a slow day. Also - note that "Premium Services" includes all the premium departments (like Aadmirals club) - but that there is a "crew" inside PS that is designated to "real" VIPs.

So a search for AA premium services (or on occasion mislabled as special services) and you will find more details on it.

But - unless your name is Owen Wilson, or Geraldo - chances are slim that you will get these extra-special perks. Unless your excessive flying gets soo bad that it gets noticed over at "corporate" - which means you have to stand out above 70 million active AAdvantage members (or whatever number actually have activity in a year)

oh - one more item - I forgot to point out that all EXPs already DO get a service that's probably on par with part of the service provided by UA's globabl services - namely a direct number (the EXP desk) that answers your call usually in 15 seconds or less, and can pretty much perform magic in case you just ask kindly for it. My Experience as a UA 1P and a previous 1K is that UA does not have anything close to the EXP desk support offered by AA and in many ways UA is forced to offer extra "premium" perks just not to lose their real top-top tier customers - but - then again - that's a whole different story (and debate)...

So the next interesting question is how does AA determine who the "real" celebs are and what treatment they should get. Who's got more clout at this exact moment - Peyton Manning or Tom Cruise? Which Jessica gets the best treatment: Biel, Simpson, or Alba (did someone say Tandy)? Is Kevin Federline completely off the list now that he travels without Britney?

Maybe they have a "hip" pop-culture consultant who grades celebs on the letter system. Or maybe those sharp algorythm guys developed a forumula and some software to calculate this stuff.

Yeah, I'd love to see the results of that search. :rolleyes: ;)
