Just signed up! Thanks for the info. It'll be nice to get the paper at home, instead of waiting until I am at a hotel to read the paper.

(Making sure I reference people I talk to for back up in case there are problems down the road.)
Why don't you just back to back the subscriptions? It lets you pick the start date. 4 week subscriptions, 10 of them back to back, 40 weeks for $129.50, and 15k miles... NOt the cheapest miles I have ever got, but not bad.

Serious question ...

So if I buy 100 "gift" subscriptions for each of the residents in my high-rise apartment building (or even for fictitious people and addresses), would I get 150,000 miles for $1,295? If that was certain, I just might do it to get that much closer to 2MM! It's a much better deal than even the old InsideFlyer deal, before the miles were cut in half.

From looking at their website, it looks like you can do that. And I think I'll present this exact question to their customer service agent before doing so.

I viewed the link from the original post on this topic and it states 1500 miles for signing up. Then I saw at aa.com that the bonus is for 1000 miles. I then followed the link from aa.com and it reports 2200 miles. I wonder if there are several offers or if it's changing quickly each day.

Here's the link that reads 2200 miles:

The 2,200 miles include the 12 renewals for 100 miles each. The base bonus is 1,000 miles. So the 1,500 offer is better.

vasantn -- Maybe you can just buy 100 back-to-back subscriptions for yourself?

I've since returned to aa.com and read the details but the information on the USA Today web site reads differently. I tried calling their office but unfortunately, their office is not open on weekends.

The banner at the USA Today web site reads:

Now you can earn miles all year
long just by reading a newspaper!
Sign up for a home or office
subscription to USA TODAY and earn
2200 AAdvantage Miles!
It's only $12.95 per month with
the four week EZ-PAY plan, and
you'll earn another
100 AAdvantage Miles
when your subscription renews
every four weeks.

Admittedly, 2200 miles sounds "too good to be true." But that's how I read their banner. Their advertisement indicates "and you'll earn another 100 miles..... "Does anyone else see it that way?

I did attempt to order with this (2200 mile ) offer and the second page indicated the base bonus is 1000 miles. I went on and ordered from the 1500 mile offer.

Incidentally, my confirmation email indicates that I'm signed up for the EZ-PAY renewal even though I indicated on the order form that it was a one time order.

The email is a bit confusing on that point, but if you check your subscription online or by phone, you can see what it shows.
Mine says

Initial Start Date: May 17, 2006
Current Expiration Date: June 15, 2006
: No (to the left of this is a graphic with the text "EZ-Pay")
Number of Copies: 1

In case you have problems: (you will need to create a password)

"If you have any questions about your subscription, please visit us online at
www.myusatoday.com or call us at 1-800-872-0001."

It was from the Day 3 Citi offer of the 25 Days of May Bonus offerings. The 1st 25K to sign-up received a 25% bonus on their AA Branded Citi credit cards. Unfortunately, once the 25K signed up, the Day 3 deal was changed to show the 25K sign-up bonus offer.

The other excellent offer is from Earthlink...7,000 bonus miles for three month service($21.95 each). Use the search to find the thread with this offer.
Cheers!
