Strange issue when entering Known Traveler ID into reservation
Have a KTID through GE program and am having a strange problem when entering this number into a reservation. For reference, I don't have my KTID # saved within my FF account. I manually enter it into every reservation, as I have had problems on other carriers when the number is saved.
When I enter my KTID into an existing reservation, the number seems to change into a second number (that I have no recognition of)-- perhaps after the system has had time to process this change. I have manually changed the number back to my KTID a few times but every time I log back into the reservation, its this unusual number.
Anyone else familiar with this issue? Will probably give AA a call about this.

Call AA. But, for your info., entering your KTN into your profile tends to work well with AA>

I have had no problems for years with AA's reservation system retaining my GE Known Traveller Number (in fact, I usually don't remember it, so it is great having it in the system). Call AA; they should be able to fix it.

Thanks everyone. Will call them tomorrow and hopefully report back with positive news. Flight is on Friday so I guess I will know by then if there are any real problems with my account (Based on if I do or don't get Pre Check)

I had my KTID become corrupted ONCE. Out of 100 times.
(I also had my birth date somehow become corrupted)
Both resulted on not getting pre-check. I was able to have them fix it, check me 'out', then re-check in...voila

Piling on...I have had trouble entering my KTID into single reservations with AA (made through other carriers like BA) but have never in several years had an issue with it showing up on an AA reservation made using my AAdvantage profile, in which my KTID is saved. So my suggestion would be to not worry about "other carriers" and to add it to your profile.

Just one more data point to add to the chorus: I too have never had an issue saving my KTN to AA. Had lots of problems with UA and a few times with AS (although with AS it's always been super easy to re-check-in through the app and have it work). AA is always fine and gets me Pre-Check.
