ERROR aa.com: EXP 2015 Threshold Raised to 120K EQM/EQP [FALSE ALARM]

I just saw this: http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/eliteStatus/main.jsp

and see that the EXP threshold is now 120K. I am EXP and did not receive any prior notice. Is this for real?

Web site now shows correct threshold levels.

This will make it harder for me to reach. I would have made it the past 2 years but not sure about this year.

I gave up AAdvantage some time ago and decided it was only worth it for status. 6 months ago I gave up flying AA altogether.

Thanks for yet another validation of my decision, AA!

WOW. I wonder if this is a misprint or not as I haven't seen this anywhere else yet.

The total lack of notice is a REALLY crappy, underhanded thing to do, AA.

Not a class move.

I suspect the website was just updated, given the number of FT eyes on it. Will probably get an email in the next day or two.

Since we're just a few weeks into 2015, it's a bit of a stretch to say there's no notice.

Although if you click on the benefits link, it still shows the following:

http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/el...fits-chart.jsp

Qualify for AAdvantage elite status by earning elite qualifying miles, points or segments in a calendar year.

Qualification*

AAdvantage Executive Platinum
oneworld Emerald

AAdvantage Platinum
oneworld Sapphire

AAdvantage Gold
oneworld Ruby

Miles/points 100,000 50,000 25,000
Segments 120 60 30

Or in a different section:

http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/AA...&reportedPos=1

Thus I'm not yet convinced..

My account says I need either 100/100/120.

The change they announced in the fall, I thought, was the 120 segments.

Likewise, the status progress bars still show 100k.

Waiting to hear back from JonNYC

No, no stretch at all-- this would be ZERO notice-- 2016-elite-year activity is already being flown and booked.

I think we should be 99.99% sure this is a typo, but thanks to those who are verifying.

ALL INDICATION ARE THIS WAS AN ERROR.

It has changed back on AA.com and AAdvantage confirms no change.
