Miles/benefits for Kulula flights?

Can you get AA miles and oneworld status benefits for Kulula flights?

Did a search, but only found a Comair thread from 2008.

My flight is "Operated by Comair branded as Kulula". So I'm not sure where that leaves me. AA.com does have Comair on the BA earnings page.
But my flight is showing as "D" class on Kulula which is not an economy fare bucket on BA.

Anyone had any experience with this?

I don't have experience with Kulula, but I'd venture to say that, based on the earning rules for other carriers and their affiliate carriers, one of the 2 below would happen, basically leaning towards NOT earning miles.

1) if your flight number is MNxxxx, you would NOT earn any miles, as Kulula is not a oneworld affiliate airline listed on the oneworld website

2) if your flight number is BAxxxx, then you have a 50/50 shot at earning miles, leaning towards NOT earning miles, as under the oneworld affliate section, Comair is listed, but it does not mention Kulula flights, as all Comair flights use BA flight number, livery, etc.

One world benefits, no.

Miles on the other hand, according to their website (which is awfully confusing by the way), you can earn discovery miles through them and convert them to BA miles.

It is indeed a very confusing website, which is why I thought I'd ask here.

Did not notice the option to convert to Avios - that is interesting. I wonder if there is a fee to do so.

It makes sense that this will not earn AA miles. My flight number is indeed MNXXX, so looks like I'm out of luck.
Still trying to figure out if I can get Avios directly for this flight, but it looks like that may only be possible if booked as a BA flight number.

Very strange setup!

The page that talks about conversion is here:

Good luck.

Technically, yes. But it matters as to who is listed as the marketing carrier.

If the flight is ticketed with a BA flight number (Comair) there shouldn't be a problem. Comair is also a oneworld affiliate airline so elite status benefits are available.

If ticketed as Kulula no miles, no benefits.
