I've heard that that is true in general. You have to go from a man-to-man to a zone defense .

Cheers.

You will not be able to access the BA Lounge in MCO its on the B Side of the terminal in a Seperate satelitte, also its only open Late afternoon/early evening when the BA flight departs The good news is that there's a quite lightly used Cafe and Bar near Gates 22-25 in a different wing of the same satelitte. American uses gate 11-18 in the ajacent wing about a 5 minutes walk.

I can confirm first hand going from two to three children increases the challenge. With only 50% more children, the 'work' involved is more than double. Based on the ages of the children (some in diapers, some not), escorted bathroom visits, trying to find 3 vs. 5 seats together, etc. The ages of the children certainly come into play as well, I have a 5 yr old, 3 yr old and a 18 month old. We live on one side of the Atlantic and both sets of grandparents live on the other, so we go back and forth twice a year.

As far as lounge access, I have found relatively open access in the US, and almost scorn anywhere outside the US, and this is with children who have their own BA Silver AND AA Plat cards. I am not going to say my kids are the best behaved ever, but they are truly no more annoying than someone yelling into a cell phone, or cursing at the check in agents....

Good luck on your trip, when anyone mentions a CX flight, I know they are in for a long ride!!

I would disagree. I would prefer someone annoying on a cell phone than unruly children running around making trouble any day of the week. I find it offensive what some parents allow their children to do. In terms of someone cursing at the check in agents, that happend infrequently, and the desk is uaully far awat, so it's a non-issue. Anything but unruly children...

From the replies thus far, it looks like unless the FL staff that day has had a very bad day, I should be able to get my wife and baby daughter in without them trying to enforce the 1 guest rule.

Unless I can somehow check-in my luggage for the CX flight (along with 2 weeks worth of luggage) at the T4 AA counter/lounge, I guess I'll have to make do with the CX lounge on the return journey.

But I would also be prepared for them to enforce the guest rule and not make a fit if they do.

Already prepared for that. Of course, if I'm denied access for that reason, it would just mean I would be less likely to fly domestically in the US on AA in the future since this was one of the main reasons I chose to fly them this time round.

Just curious - to those AA EXP members, doesn't seem fair that other oneworld emerald members can access the FL when flying domestically but you cannot unless trans/intl.

I think the main reason for this is that there are just too many AA flyers. If they followed the same rules, it would let emerald and sapphire (PLT) members in. There are a lot of EXP, and a whole lot of PLT. The clubs would be jammed if they let all of us rabble in on domestic itins.

Cheers.

In my opinion, just mine of course airline/airport lounges should = no children. AC in particular always seem full of kids running mad.

Kiddos don't bother me. However, badly-behaved people, regardless of age, should be relocated to someplace out of earshot.

Smoking room at LAX Flagship Lounge?

Is there a smoking room in the Flagship Lounge at LAX? If not, does anybody know if the Cathay Pacific lounge offers a smoking room?

They're in different terminals - FL in terminal 4 and the CX lounge in TBIT.

I don't think either offers a smoking area, but you can grab a smoke if you have to walk between them.

No smoking at all indoors at LAX. You'll have to go outside, or as one flight attendant once put it upon landing at LAX, "please do not smoke until you're in a designated smoking area, or outside the state of California."
