To Start - Selection of Sushi
Kobachi - Smoked salmon and seaweed salad, served with green curl, yellow cherry tomato, nagaimo-yam, diced red onion and Wasabi dressing
Hassun - Grilled whitefish with cheese, wild plant omelette, grilled marinated prawns, grilled chicken skewer with wasabi paste, vinegared carrot with radish julienne and salmon roe

----------------
I had the Japanese meal, which was good... although was a little full on that fantastic beef curry from the JAL F lounge so didn't finish most of it. Also, one of my favorite things on AA are those porcelain sake bottles/cups they have on flights to/from NRT. Great stuff.
Also, really like the design of the new menu... nice textured paper and classy feel ^

What was the ice cream? Heath bar?[/QUOTE]
No, cookies/cream with chocolate shavings
Forgot....breakfast was usual cold choices.
Hot item was a Huevos Rancheros Skillet. Not a hit with me. Tortilla strips were very chewy of course and way to many onions ( in the dawn light, I thought it was a pile of potatoes) anyway, I think Mr. Sandoval needs to rethink that dish. Concept was good but it didn't translate at 41,000 feet.

--
Much better meal than the JFK-NRT. I would have this one again.
I don't have the list of wines but the sake is great and the Malbec on this flight was superb. Better than the JFK-NRT reds. Same sake.
If anyone knows the details on the Malbec FC JFK-NRT please post them. I'd like to track it down.

Hot breakfast menu item was the Huevos Rancheros which I was looking to try but only the cold tray was loaded. This is the 3rd time in the last 2 months that only the cold breakfast has been offered on that route even though the menu indicated a hot option. It was obvious that the crew didn't want the pax to know that and were actively discouraging ordering. Only when I resisted their negative recommendation they admitted it wasn't actually available.

FYI - I have twice (in the past year or so) gotten minor, but quite uncomfortable, food poisoning from Indian food on flights from ORD. I really like Indian food, but won't try it again on AA.
