Eagle Snack Flights

On the 2:45 p.m. LGA to ATL this week. At 2h25m blocked, this used to be a refreshment flight (as it would be on AA mainline). However, its now listed as a snack flight (presumably due to DL competition because Eagle meal windows are traditional more narrow than mainline). Any idea what this actually means on Eagle?

Monday December 17
AA 1004 MIA-RDU 737-800 1015-1220

Another snack flight. No pre-departure drink (shocker, I know )

Beer and mixed nuts (is 10:30 too early? )

Choice of Buffalo Chicken Salad or Hummas/Fruit Plate. This was actually a pretty good meal and a fair size for a lunch and also quite good for a 700 mile flight. Notice the fresh can of beer and water in the water glass, great crew on this flight.

Oatmeal raisin cookie, my least favorite but better than no cookie every time.

I'll answer my own question: chicken cobb salad with Pita chips OR three sliders with potato salad. Both served with milano cookies. Cold nuts beforehand. And yes, on PDBs.

Weird - its better than what AA mainline would serve on a flight this length at this time.

If the book before you fly option has two entrees are those the only two entrees that will be available in F on the flight?

The choices are Butter Chicken (Indian dish I think) and Salmon.

Just curious. Either will work.

What does a trans-con vegeterian meal look like these days? I can pre-select for an upcoming LAX-MIA in C and it's chicken pot pie (disgusting) or salmon (I don't eat fish), so looks like I'll go veggie.

I had it last month on AA 192 (LAX-BOS redeye) and it was ramen noodles with pepper, pineapple, and snap peas. Served with side fruit plate (same as breakfast melon and one strawberry) and a packaged vegan brownie.

How so? Are you saying a Corona is best in a long neck bottle so you can jam a lime wedge through or are you saying AA shouldn't have cans present in F? Cans on a plane don't bother me, I know some think the cabin looks more elegant without cans. Plenty of fine dining establishments have cans in their dining rooms as do airline that offer true international first class in my experience (CX, LH, LX, NH, SQ, etc)

I like my Corona's out of a bottle and yes with a lime. Something having been drinking for well over 25 years. Growing in San Diego and spending many weekends in Mexico surfing, I was drinking Corona's before they were popular with the masses.

I'm a beer snob and trust me, once it's poured into a glass it tastes the same anyway. I'm just happy that AA has something interesting and if it's in a can, it's in a can.

No meal in first class?

Just had a 4 hr flight from LAX to BNA (Nashville). Almost missed the flight due to a late connecting flight. I had not eaten since lunch and was looking forward to a nice meal since I had upgraded to 1st class. It was a late flight (11:15PM) but I was sure they would still feed us in first. Is this normal or just AA lowering the bar again?

Of course it's normal as it's outside the posted dinner window. No change at all.

Cheers.
