I find the chicken wrap to be too salty. Like the roast beef one better. But the portions are way too small. They should throw in a bag of chips.

Dinner

Main Course

Beef Fillet with Foyot Sauce
Grilled beef fillet served with a bearnaise-style glace de viande and celery chive potato puree

Cheese Tortellini with Romano Sauce
Homeade tortellini stuffed wit three cheeses, topped with tomato, mushroom, and mozzarella sauce, Parmesan cheese and parsley

Premium transcon F is down to just two main course choices for dinner? And one of them is the same pasta that invariably winds up being the only thing left on midcon dinner flights?

Yikes!

It's been two choices in 2-Class F/3-Class J for quite a while now. 3-Class First Class still has three choices.

Yikes!
AA 85 is the 763 flight. It gets transcon J catering. And the "F" cabin is priced as J.

AA 1900 DFW-PHL
11/18/12
Departed right on schedule @ 11:25

No PDB

Lunch was choice of curried chicken w/jasmine rice or lemon grass salmon salad.

Red/white/blue cookie

No mints

No sure where the lemon grass was, but otherwise, the salad was very similar to the Asian Salmon salad including the oriental dressing. Lemon grass or not, very good & just the right size (at least for me).

I had this yesterday. I hesitate to say the absolute worst, but it was definitely top 5.

AA 610 tonight DFW-EWR. Choice of chipotle chicken or tortellini. Tortellini all that was left by row 6 - although a pilot in uniform in row 5 got chicken. Shrimp cocktail and greek salad and sourdough roll.

Did the chicken have a yellowish/orangey rice & lima beans with it?

If so, we had the same choices on 2227 PHL-DFW, but couldn't get any info on the chicken from the FA other than 'grilled chicken w/rice'

Otherwise, no PDB
Cold nuts to start
Entree came with pre-dressed Cesar salad (waaaaaaay too much vinegar in the dressing)
VERY stale bread (but no plate to put it on)
Chocolate chip cheesecake
Mints prior to landing

Don't know about the chicken, but the pasta was barely lukewarm, which was odd considering it usually has to sit for a good 15 minutes before it cools enough not to cause 2nd degree burns.

Did not eat very much of any of it & tummy still not happy

AA #1498 - MIA to DCA

Wednesday, November 21
AA #1498 - MIA to DCA

Flight was delayed 29 mins due to issue with lav smoke detector.

PDB of water
Due to delay, "snack" & drink orders taken before takeoff
Hot towels, followed by tray w/ hot nuts

Snack choices were same as those listed below. I took a picture of my cheese plate for reference:

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/cyncyn129/8206381844/" title="image by cyncyn129, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8200/8206381844_854cf93680.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="image"></a>

Cheeses were smoked Gouda, manchego and a peppery Swiss or cheddar. While the plate was enough to quell my hunger, I would have preferred breakfast at 10am. But that might just be me.

Great omelette, best ever on AA - cheese omelette with beans, potatos, and spicy sauce... Perfect start to MR... but the silverware needs to be cleaned better

I've merged your post in with the 2012 consolidated thread on domestic meals. Please remember that the FlyerTalk Rules & Guidelines do ask users to search for a relevant extant thread before starting a new one.

AA to increase Glenlivet provisioning

Not sure if this has been brought up already, but came across this tidbit on the LSG sky chef site. I'm sure it will make a lot of folks happy!

Due to an increase in demand for Glenlivet, American Airlines is changing current provisioning of Glenlivet and Dewar’s such that we will equally provision both scotches at 50/50. In instances where the provisioning between the two items are odd, the Glenlivet will be provisioned higher. This change will be effective October 1st, 2012 and will affect Domestic, Mexico and Caribbean routes where we board tax paid liquor only. Please reference the attached spreadsheet which shows the impacted Liquor Mini Drawers and quantities. Only Dewar’s and Glenlivet are referenced to show changes in provisioning.

Improved meals

I had given up on meal service on American due to the mediocre fare for some time now, and my recent flights were typically snack flights with the hummus or turkey wrap option.

Today I didn't have time to grab lunch before a SAN-DFW flight. The meals offered were:
1) Chicken Pot Pie Crepe with Sweet Potato mash
2) Beef salad

I had the first option and it was excellent. One of the best airline meals I have had on a domestic flight. The salad also looked like it was quite upgraded over previous fare.

Are there any more stories of improved meals on American? Have the dinner services improved as well?

Been two days since the last post, but there's a great thread about food onboard domestic flights.
