I wonder why they are using different linens on domestic vs. international routes -- seems counterproductive if trying to reduce costs and streamline? Does anyone else find the grey linens and plain napkins to seem cheap and "less premium?"

On my JFK-LAX the other day, the drink cart used grey linens, the dinner linen was grey, and the trey linen was blue. As previously stated, I've also had the opposite where the trey linen was grey and the table linen was blue obviously both combinations are catering issues.

BOG-MIA J Meal Service?

On Monday, I'm flying from Bogota to Miami in J. The flight departs Bogota at 1:10am and arrives in 4:50am (1,506 miles)... clearly not during normal meal service hours. I'm assuming it'll be a similar service to the LAX-MIA service of a PDB, warm cookie and maybe a quick snack prior to arrival.

But since it is an international flight I am wondering if they actually do serve a meal as all my EZE/GRU-MIA flights do that leave after 11pm (and serve several courses) So my question is, is there anything more than the typical domestic F red eye service and if so what do they typically serve (dinner after take-off or breakfast prior to arrival)??

*My itinerary states "Snack or Brunch" but I'm not exactly sure what to expect on this leg.

Same for (edited, was FRA by accident) LHR-DFW J 1/29 with the exception of the Marinated Cheese. not offered on this 777 flight. The Beef Fillet with Shallot Sauce was decent. Tandoori chicken was pretty tasty too.

Tried the Terrasses du Rieutor Faugeres and was not that impressed. Went back to a just vodka/tonic instead. But the Port was good with the ice cream.

Um, well to answer my own questions...

On this flight a meat and cheese platter was served with a cup of fruit and flan that was really delicious.

Mostly the same as I had except for no roast beef & mozzarella on departure (just marinated cheese and sun-dried tomatoes) and tandori chicken in the mid-flight/pre-arrival snack. The cold chicken was actually pretty good and much better than the pizza's I've had before.

THe outboound cheese & tomatoes was tasty. The outbound smoked salmon and capers was OK.The outbound beef with sauce was pretty good. The 'lunch' pizza/appetizer was only OK. Could have been better on the lunch/pre-arrival meal in J.

Anyone tried this? I'm on FRA-DFW later this month and it certainly sounds good, and quite a bit upscale from previous menus.

My FRA-DFW had a smoked salmon appetizer instead of the roast beef. And the 'light meal' priors to landing was either a pizza or tandoori chicken. The chicken was actually decent. I always avoid the pizza.

Had it last week - the word I would use to describe it is 'dry'. The rice was tasty enough but my chicken was barely warm and the whole thing needed a lot more sauce that I had on my plate.
