I guss they will come looking for you if they don't escort you. It was really strange, because we were the only people he spoke to.
Either the AAgent was on the wrong plane, or your seats were previously assigned to someone else until the very last minute.

So when you log on AA.com and when you print your BP it would say "Executive Platinum" or conciergeKey?

boarding passes say EXP, not concierge key.

however they know you are concierge key.. is in the computer somewhere.. (in lounges, counter, etc)

not sure if flight attendants know in advance but whoever escort you to the plane they tell them you are concierge key.

If the FAs receive the proper paperwork, then they will know in advance.

Speaking of Concierge Key, I was scheduled to fly NRT->LAX today and apparently due to the LAX->NRT (AA169) flight leaving much later than usual (or so I heard) the outbound flight was cancelled. What was interesting was that I received an e-mail from the Concierge Key desk (?) to inform me about the cancellation and that I was booked on to another flight (NRT->DFW in this case). Does this make me special or is it just a tease?

I realized I was Concierge Key when once I arrived to the airport in PTY a lady escorted me from check in to the gate, had all my paperwork ready (custom forms, etc) and she told me about this new service. I received the CK card and a letter much later than that. If you received an email from Concierge Key desk I believe you are concierge key, or some kind of error. Concierge key agents are also Admirals Club employees (maybe the email was sent from and admirals club- that is also CK agent).

Yeah that is entirely possible. But just for anyone's amusement, the e-mail was sent from this address:

[email protected] (Concierge Key, NRT)

The mail was short. Information on cancellation and an apology. The signature at the end had this:

Premium Services
Narita Int’l Airport, Japan
American Airlines

Based on what I know about Concierge Key on this thread, I honestly feel that there is no way I'd be part of that group. Though I fly a reasonable amount, (last year I posted 214,000+ QM though at least 30,000 was from the QM doubling promotion) most of the tickets that are booked are usually the cheap seats and I -always- use upgrades to fly First domestically and Business internationally. Not so useful to AA IMO.

Hey 200k+ miles is nothing to sneeze at, even around here. Don't be hard on yourself.

Tonight, at the A terminal AC two of the AAngels had ConciergeKey on their name tag. Just an observation.

Cheers.

IME, sometimes AA has different "Premium Depts" in different airports covering different responsibilities. Protocol isn't always spelled out explicitly as one would think with AA, so it's possible that you may not be CK, nor is it exactly an error - more like an inconsistency of sorts.

Ah I see. Oh well, it was amusing to consider the possibility even if for a brief moment. Hahaha.

The concierge AAngels were not siblings, but there were two, tall, very attractive blonde women behind the counter that looked like twins.
