How to keep AAdvantage miles active?

In order to keep your miles active, you must earn or redeem miles through a qualifying activity at least once every 18 months. You need to take action to earn or redeem miles.
No Citi AA credit card. Any idea how to keep my miles active?

In the AA website, they list many way you can earn and use miles. You need to just have an activity and be set for another 18 months.

You can register with AAdvantage eShopping and buy an iTune for $1.29:

Just be sure you spend at least $1, I don't think a 99 cent song would count...

Where do you live? In most cities of reasonable size in the US, AAdvantage Dining may be the most reliable way. It works with any credit or debit card that you already have. (AAdvantage Shopping works from "everywhere", but not all shopping purchases reliably post AA miles, plus even when they do it can take forever and lots of followup.)

A few ideas are in this thread:

(search terms: account active)

Please refer to the thread linked in the previous post. Members have posted some great and creative ideas for how to keep AAdvantage accounts active. ^

As a reminder to some of our newer members or new visitors to the AA forum: We have a great FAQ resource stickied at the top of the thread listing: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...ere-first.html

(Within the FAQ, there's actually a specific entry for "How do I keep my miles from expiring?": http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11822072-post67.html)

Thanks! :) /Moderator
