Maximum AAdvantage points (miles) in 1 Year?

I am looking at purchasing some AAdvantage points before the bonus offer ends on 4/30, however looking at the fine print when purchasing the miles, it shows that you can only purchase/gift 100k miles a year.

How does this affect Credit Card award miles? Do they max out at 100k a year? I've never put 100k miles from a cc on a year, but if I purchase additional AA miles then I will be above 100k miles for the year.

So my question is, if I earn say 60k miles a year from Credit Card and purchase 80K miles from AA. Will my account show 140K miles and will I be able to use them?

Thanks

Purchase miles limit only apply to purchasing of miles and has not impact on earnings from other sources such as credit cards

Miles purchases via buymiles.com do have limits; those do not affect credit card or other miles earnings.

Some credit cards do state limits on miles per year that can be earned; most waive limits for those credit card users with AAdvantage Gold, Platinum or Executive Platinum status. Others, such as Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® MasterCard®!, state:

7 No Mileage Cap
There is no maximum number of American Airlines AAdvantage® miles that you can accumulate through your Citi® / AAdvantage® credit card account.
I recommend you review your specific credit card's terms and conditions.
