AA Award on CX: LAX-HKG-PVG-HKG-TPE - Allowable?

I am thinking about booking the following itinerary on Cathay Pacific (CX) using American Airlines (AA) miles.

LAX-HKG
-2.5 hr layover-
HKG-PVG
-23 hr stopover-
PVG-HKG
-1 hr layover-
HKG-TPE

25% above the Maximum Permitted Mileage (MPM) for LAX-TPE is 10171 miles. These segments total 9221 miles.

QUESTION:
Would this trip be allowable without paying extra miles over the more direct LAX-HKG-TPE routing?

Thanks!

No, it wouldn't. There's more to award bookings than just MPM.

You cannot transit the same hub twice. You may be able to try LAX-HKG-PVG-KUL-TPE since it's a different hub but not sure about the mileage limits. Call in and try to price it out.
