AA award routing rules SYD-LHR
Hello everyone,
I had a question about AA's routing rules from the south pacific to Europe. I'm wanting to book a flight from SYD-LHR. I understand that you can only route via Asia 1 or 2. However, on the AA websites it shows QF 1 and QF 9 via Dubai as available. Is this because it's technically the sale flight with the same flight number ?
For example; I assume I would not be able to book a QF flight to Dubai and than a BA flight from Dubai to LHR ?
Thanks for any insight !

For Qantas, if you book on QF1 from SYD-LHR as a single sector or QF9 from MEL-LHR as a single sector , then it is fine
If you were to book the sector as SYD/MEL-DXB and then book another airline from DXB-LHR then it will need to be priced as 2 awards
