I was on AA#1 jfk-LAX 0n 8/31 and there was a Gogo Rep handing out one time use cards. I have a couple so if it seems like I'm not going to fly before the expiration i'll post the codes!

I flew mid-august JFK-LAX and they were giving out 50% off cards, IIRC made it $6.95. i think they are onetime use, however, so as Guvner said, if i see no flights I will post the codes!

Well, believe it or not, (I'm not just saying this so you'll post the codes), I've had Gogo reps tell me This is one time use only....but I had been able to use it a few times. Sometimes the cards still have different expiration dates on 'em. Anyway, look forward to the codes!

The 70th anniversary one is strange. It says its 1 time use, but its a static/standard code. Perhaps they tie it to the email address of the user, such that the email address can only use the code once?

Would anyone care to share the 70th anniversary code if it truly is a static code?
Can you ask for the 70th anniversary code by walking into an AC?
I was handed a card on entry a couple different times. All cards had different codes. Try asking for an Anniversary card. Dang - now when was mine again?
As a side note, I heard from a friend in the tech sector that soon GoGo wants to put CDNs and servers in the planes so you will be able to purchase and watch movies etc directly. Should be interesting - hopefully it will happen - and a great way for the airlines to save money on inflight entertainment costs.

The 70th Anniv code is the same on every card... I'm in MIA and picked up a couple to see.
Anyway, if anyone wants it, feel free to PM me.
But, to make it more "fun" and less likely to be deleted instantaneously by the mods...
There are 4 parts to the code all in lower case:
1) The year the AC first opened
2) The top rank of a Naval officer
3) How many years the AC has been open
4) The 2 letter IATA code for American.

Nice hint. I was just coming on to post the one I picked up at the DFW club. They had a big stack of cards but all the same code. looks like they do tie it to the account.

1. select gogoinflight as the wireless network and launch your browser
2. sign in or click 'buy' to create a new account
3. on 'Payment Info' page, enter case sensitive promo code for free trial

This place is 98% whining and 2% substance, and yes, it is difficult to tell the difference sometimes.
As far as how it works, it likely works in one of two (or both ways).
1. When a Wi-Fi computer connects to a network, it's MAC address is unique and is recorded (this is why at hotels you often don't have to reconnect after shutting down your computer within the 24 hour period). When you purchase service, the system knows it's for that MAC address. Regardless, for Gogo this code is a one-time use and is likely linked to that MAC address. Once a device/computer has used the code, the system knows it and won't let it use it again.
2. Gogo logs in with an account. They could mark that account as having used that code and flag it not to work with that code again.
Depending on how they implemented this, it's possible the same user could use this code more than once, but it would require using different devices (another notebook, an iPhone instead of your PC, etc.). If they implement item 2 above, then the user would likely have to use a different device as well as a different account/email.
I used to work for a company that did Wi-Fi for hotels and that's pretty much how it works.
