Couple Award Questions - parter flight change and booking

I am planning on booking a Milesaaver award to South America (40K) and had a couple questions.

1. If part of my itinerary contains a partner flight (LAN), can I change the date on that as well without a fee? I confirmed awhile back that date and routing changes were free.

2. If I am going to use someone else's miles, can I do a hold and have that person call in and use the miles out of their account? Or do they have to create the itinerary over the phone with an agent?

I recently changed dates and routing on a round trip Sydney Australia trip on AA/QF, and paid only the additional airport tax for the extra stop.

So I think #1 should be OK, subject to availability based on my experience.

I *think* for #2 they have to call in; or you can do a conference call together. I might be wrong (please correct me if so).
