Smile I fly AA for the very first time...and I actually liked it!

OK, I have to admit a flight from SJC to SNA in Y on the ERJ145 is not exactly a benchmark, however i was very pleased with the overlal process: online booking, check-in, airport staff, on-time performance, cabin crew, seats (I had the two bulkhead seats to myself) etc.

So I might consider AA more often....

Actually (and sadly,) IMHO, this IS "Trmendous news." Is these days of bashing, upset posts against AA (on this forum), often met with intense support of (and against) AA on any given topic, I actually found this refreshing and welcome.

But, then again, I must be getting old - I actually am defending a positive post!!!!!

Glad to hear you enjoyed AA -- but given that you're elite on the other 2 alliances, why would you bother flying with AA unless (like here) nobody else served the route?

Only AA and WN fly SJC-SNA nonstop, so that is probably why he didn't fly with one of his elite alliances.

I fly it aboiut every other weekend.
My biggest complaint is they usually announce boardng for all of PriorityAccess at the same time as EXP, etc.

The on time performance is usually Ok, except during IRROPs, as I believe the route only has one plane for the day. I usually take an early flight to SNA and a late Sunday returning, so I see the both scenarios. At least transferring at SNA doesn't require a bus like when transferring to mainline at LAX.

I always fly in the single side seats, except for the rate standby when there ara no A"s available. It's nice that you got 2 seats together, because this can be a bit uncomfortable with 2 people on that side.

So, since you stated how much you liked the flight, what kind of compensation are you expecting? After all, this is FT and we demand compensation, even if nothing goes wrong. Just last week or so, someone wanted compensation because the airline wanted to put a relative on a direct flight, instead of connecting in weather weary Chicago, and tried to force a free first class upgrade to boot. If that had happened to me, I would have been looking for a lawyer. How dare they try to shorten my trip and give me a better seat.

I agree the route and service is great and the FA's always seem friendly.

Mind you, nearly crashed landing at SNA in Nov, just a slight crosswind and the pilot really f*cked it up with us severly facing the grass beside the runway and we fishtailed it for a good third of the runway trying to recover it.

Had to have a laugh with the pilot as we disembarked about it being a little "hairy", his comment was that it was nowhere near lost... ;-) I was almost ready to open the emerg exit door as was the other EXP across the aisle. Anyway any landing you can walk away from.........

I know it is only january 5 but so far this is the best post of the year. is it time for a thread that only lists the best comments so that we can have a year end vote?

Are you sure he wasn't using a properly executed crab technique?
