How to determine fare code of ticket? (For a possible challenge)

How can I determine the fare code of the ticket I purchased? I forgot to note it originally when I purchased it on AA.com.

I'm flying to Spain and back later this week, and being that I didn't qual for Plat last year (or the year before) I suddenly remembered that Challenges are a possibility. Back to Gold land for me.

But with the bad economy and all, this trip to spain might be the last for 3 months... or not. It's hard to know.

Come to think of it, can I still register for a challenge if my trip starts this Friday?

The fare code will be on your reservation which you can look up on aa.com.

I did this in 2005 (Booked then signed for challenge a few days before flight), and it worked just fine.

So unless something has changed, you should be able to, yes. Someone please correct me there if I'm wrong.

Which I did. And then I got confused because I saw letters that I didn't expect there. Now it makes sense.

Probably a long shot, but do you still have your E-ticket Confirmation? That email will show your original booking fare code...

Go to the refunds portion of AA.COm and use the ticket# 001xxxxxxxxxxxxx
It will give you the fare basis.
If u do nto have the ticket number call AA and ask for it (it would be in your eticket confirmation)

Bingo. Thanks to infinite e-mail storage capacity I found it.

Oops, it was booking code N - just .5 points. No challenge for me.

Remember they also charge now for the challenge, but...

If you are going from SFO to MAD it is roughly 6,000 miles one way. So you would get 6,000 points for your RT and qualify at least for gold.
