Connection Time at JFK Landing International connecting to American Eagle

We are flying FCO-JFK-DCA (we preferred BWI, but that only alloxed an 80 minute connection).

I ended up with a 2 hour and 20 min connection to DCA (on American Eagle). I have not connected through JFK in this manner before, but it would seem to be ample time.

Anyone with a differing opinion?

A Google search on minimum connect time produces this:

You are generously above the minimum but only you know your risk tolerance.

AE at JFK leave from the same terminal as all other flights. So there's no extra time heading to a remote satellite, or anything like that.

However, AE gates are the far end of the far concourse. But even that's only a 10 minute stroll from security. As noted above, you should be fine.

You are fine.....you may even get through fast enough to try and stand by for the BWI flight. I went through JFK customs earlier this year and was out within 20 minutes of landing.

If u get in early and get out of customs early; if there as an earlier flight to DCA take your luggage with u to the AE check in counter to see if they can get u on the earlier flight.
