What happened: Leaving HPN on Eagle, we had to wait 25 minutes for the ground crew to clean up vomit in the 4th row. Upon boarding, at least 10 passengers complained of the stench (even me in that front seat by myself).

Compensation About 15 passengers lined up ready with complaints and everyone in line got 10,000 miles.

It wasn't worth the 10,000 miles. I honestly wasn't even expecting that so I'm happy.

What happened: Flying NCL-LHR-ORD-DEN. Slight delay at NCL meant a late arrival at LHR - sprinted through the terminals and just made the Chicago flight, but luggage didn't. It was delivered to our hotel 30hrs after we got there, meaning one day of holiday lost (and it really was lost - you can't go ice climbing without an ice-axe )

Compensation Absolutely nothing. Not even a toothbrush. I asked the people at lost luggage in ORD, the agent on the phone when we arranged delivery of said luggage, again when I called to confirm flights home and even at check-in at DEN. Each time was told no. A shame - I would have been happy with a couple of free beers on the flight home...

I suggest writing a letter (or sending an email) to AA customer relations. Their address can be found under "Contact us" on AA.com.

With several flights per day from LHR-ORD and from ORD-DEN, it's inexcusable for a bag which misconnects by a few minutes to take 30 additional hours to arrive.

Thanks. I probably should have done at the time, but it was a while ago. Only put it up here to share my experiences.

Was this flight 1883 from PHL/DFW last Friday night? When we had to stop in BNA to add fuel due to the weather re-route?

You can probably write to AAdvantage Customer Service, and they will probably post the extra miles. They will probably also make a notation in your account that you've been granted one favor from your lifetime allotment. If it's a lot of miles, it's probably worth the trouble. Otherwise, it's probably not.

Actually the rule is clear for these cases: on single-plane flights, you receive the nonstop origin-destination mileage (https://www.aa.com/content/AAdvantag...ditions.jhtml). So AA 1490 (SFO-LAX-DEN) only earns you miles as if it you were going SFO-DEN.

"We are sorry that this 1000 mile flight had to stop 600 miles in, but if you want to stay up here in F class, we will need to deduct an extra sticker for the last 400 mile leg".

You also need to request the mileage for all your flights that circled waiting foir a landing slot and the extra land miles when you take off from the remote run way.

Does everything that doesn't go according to plan require compensation? so if the poster bumps his bag into someone else's foot in the terminal does he/she expect to pay for pain and suffering?

What happened MIA-EZE in J using VIP's. 777 J seat footrest would not stay in full down position. No other J/F seats available. Return flight late, PLT wife downgraded to Y on MIA-ORD. Luggage lost for 11 hours. Requested 2 VIP's recredited +whatever wife was entitled to.
Compensation 20K miles in my account.
Comments Had name of Purser and employee number. Not bad compensation, IMO. No VIP's, as "We do not re-credit VIP's once used."

What happen: LGA-DFW initial flight was cancelled due to equipment failure, so they put me and a friend on the next flight out. Then the second flight out got delayed for another 3 hours. We arrived at DFW 5 hours later than originally scheduled.
Compensation: 5000 miles
