Eagle memo just announced today, that they are parking all of the Saabs. The excess ATR's will be moved to DFW. Some jets will be shifted to LA to fill in for the Saabs.
MAH4546 is maintaining an updated list of flights to be dropped and effective dates, as well as other flight changes, for those who may be affected, on this page.

The Saabs won't be missed--I haven't flown the ATRs, but it would have to be an upgrade.
Great! Encourage pax to bring all their worldly possessions on board as carry on (with no weight restrictions by the way). This is exactly the WRONG strategy. I say charge for carry-on.
The story continues... an e-mail I received this afternoon:
AAdvantage Platinum® Members Are Exempt From
New Checked Baggage Fees
Dear Joel604,
As you are probably aware, we recently announced a change to our checked baggage policy for travel on domestic economy class tickets. I want to take this opportunity to emphasize that these additional baggage fees do not apply to you. As a benefit to our valued AAdvantage Platinum members, you will still be able to check two bags free of charge (within current size and weight limits). In addition, customers flying on the same reservation with you are also exempt from the new checked baggage fees. For a recap of our updated policy, and to view a list of frequently asked questions, visit the link below:
http://www.aa.com/aa/pubcontent/en_U...heckBagFee.jsp
Also, as an AAdvantage Platinum member, you will continue to be among the first customers to be boarded. This should provide ample time to locate available space for your carry-on luggage, settle in and attend to business well before takeoff.
Thanks for flying with us. It's always a pleasure to serve you.

I got the same email, the only difference being I'm Gold, and that I would still be in Group 1.
I wondered if AA would make free baggage an elite perk, and they did.
AA is overstreched right now and cannot manage its schedule.
I and othes have experienced severe disruptions/delays on over half of our flights.
Downsizing might be a good thing if it means those flights which will remain will arrive/depart on time.
I know I will get beaten up for this-but I would fly AA more if it meant getting form point A to point B on time without the worry that I now feel when booking on AA.com

Yes, people who's pet route has gone away (and some others) will complain about your comments, but I agree with you. As SJC routes start to go away, I'll be plenty bummed, but I do realize that things have to change. It would also be nice if the capacity cuts result in better efficiency on the remaining routes, but that may be asking too much
