CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® MasterCard® questions (consolidated)

I applied for the Citi/AA platinum Business CC almost 2 weeks ago . Applied on line and response said will be notified by regular mail for approval (was not instantly approved). I have a good credit rating but still have not heard from Citibank if I was approved or not. How long can this process take before I get a notice (good or bad)
Note: I dont have my own private business but do some consulting from time to time so dont know if this could influence the approval status.

Not sure, but you might have more luck posting this to the credit card fourms here...

I disagree. With the recent signup bonus as part of the 25th anniversary of AAdvantage, there are quite a few people here who should be able to give their opinions as to the OP's situation.

Approved with card in 12 days

I applied on the 18th as part of the AA/25 celebration for the Business AA card and was also not instantly approved. I received the card in today's mail. You can always call them at 800-288-4653 (business card section) and they can give you an update on your status once you get to a human. Just answer the prompts that you applied weeks ago and want to speak with a human.

Good luck!

I applied for both the regular and the business cards on the bonus day. My regular card arrived Saturday. Still no sign or word of what happened with the business card application.

I applied for the personal card on the 18th, and did not get the auto-approval. The card arrived one day late last week (not sure which day) - so about a week including mailing time.

My new AA Citi business card came in the mail today (May 30) after making an on line app on May 18. 12 days is not bad. I will activate and use tomorrow morning at Starbucks and revel in my 25K bonus miles!

By the way, Federal Law allows thirty days from date of application for a response to the application, one way or the other.

I also applied on the bonus day for both cards; the personal card arrived last week, the business card today, good timing considering they must have been swamped w/applications.

A personal record...

Online App: May 3rd
Card in hand: May 14th
25K Miles posted: May 23rd

I just caught the computers at the right time I guess, first for me.... usually I end up waiting 8-12 weeks.

Dear Wanabee-Plat, absolutely, $250 worth of Starbucks in one morning. They sell gift cards, you know!

I applied for both the personal and business cards on the 18th. This is my second personal card. Received instant approval on the personal card and they said I would receive a letter on the business. I received the personal card on Saturday. Have not heard anything on the business card. Now I am hoping I will still receive the bonus miles even though I already have another card!

I received a terse rejection letter yesterday; "we could not verify the accuracy of the information.. or the documentation submitted.."

I called up just now and all they wanted was me to confirm the password and 2 contact #'s associated with my application-- all due to the fraud alerts I placed on my credit w/ the reporting agencies. Once I provided same, they said they would speed my application through.

So, if anyone else was declined-- but knows they have good credit, etc-- that might be the reason.

I applied for the business card on 5/18 and received it today. Now that I think about it, I like the other offer better (15k/companion cert/double miles for AA spend). I wonder if I can switch promotions....
