As long as they are able to validate that you have some sort of public listing where you say you do, sole proprietor is fine. One of their thresholds is verifying that you have a place of business, which can be your home. The rep that did my verification actually checked phone records to verify we had a business listing, and verified the same for my home address. This turned out to be a problem, since my home info is unlisted. Slight hurdle, which they resolved.

IIRC, there is also a gross income requirement as well. My business (which has turned into an occasional side project, now that I work full-time) was turned down at one point earlier this year because I didn't meet their threshold (which was $15k, I think).

Stupid question, but I read the fine print and am not entirely sure...I presume the double miles only applies to the purchase price, not double miles for the flight?

Thx,

I've qualified for a CitiBusiness PremierPass card by claiming myself as a sole proprietorship with $500 of annual revenue.

There is no need for any public listing of any sort or any validation of any such listing. Citi loves to give AAdvantage cards to folks who are just even thinking about starting a consulting business.

I really am a sole proprietor, and got the card with no problem, even though Citi would have had no way to verify, other than taking my word.

CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® MasterCard® questions (consolidated)

I am planning a circle pacific trip and have normally got Qantas to do all the ticketing especially as they do the AUS visa application and they generally seem to be more in tune with RTW and CP ticketing.

But if I get AA to do the ticketing, I can get double miles for my purchase it seems.

A few questions: Is it sufficient to simply tix via AA ( I guess on AA stock) , but take all my flights on OW ( non AA flight #)??
OR do I at a minimum have to book my LAX/SYD flight using the AA codeshare #
OR do I only get double miles for segments that are with AA flight numbers ( but how would they calculate that?)

My guess is the dfirst scenario, but if others know from experience, please let me know

Since this is about the American co-branded card AND AA TICKETING I will move this to the American AAdvantage forum.

Double miles on Citi AA business card

In my experience, double miles offered by the Citi AA Business card applies to the purchase price of the ticket--not to the miles flown--unless this is some kind of special promotion.

This is correct. The miles flown are immaterial.

Pending AA miles after Cancellation of Citi Biz Card?

I'm seriously considering cancelling my Citi Biz AA card and was wondering if I do, what happens to the miles for activity not yet posted?

Specifically, my bill with the renewal fee is due next week. My recent purchase of AA tickets occured after the close date of that bill and ishould appear on the next month's bill.

So, if I cancel the card now and pay ALL outstanding charges (including the AA tix not yet billed) will I still get the double miles for that purchase OR do I forfeit them 'cause I cancelled the card before that bill was closed?

TIA

Let the miles post before you cancel the card. My Citi miles typically post within 72 hours of the statement generation.

Not sure as to if this totally classifies itself as being a reply but I applied for a Citi Card and received it for roughly a month then canceled the account. Still received my miles for the sign up bonus.

Never been bothered what so ever. . .
