Well, I certainly do not know about the "why," just that's what they do - what I quoted was from a known and very reliable and credible person at AA, and in fact one whose duties include data / records custody.

We may not be as far from "Magnetronic Reservisor" and "Semi-Automatic Business Environment" days. OTOH, it's all well and good for our VIPs longevity.

I still don't buy it. The data is already in the system, why would they need to photograph all of it? That would be a hell of a lot of microfiche to compile and store.
