Have used search and scanned scores perhaps hundreds of posts looking for AA Old Miles chart. Can anyone point me to a thread to view the chart. I have 300k old miles and just learned they are valuable for reduced mileage awards. Most AA agents are not even aware of them. I did just book 2 RT's to Europe for 40k each with NO $500 co-pay instead of 50k with co-pay.

When did you book your RTs to Europe - peak or off peak? 40K is the current mileage reward redemption rate for off-season travel from U.S. to Europe.

there is no co-pay on award travel. New miles or old miles, it doesn't matter. Co-pay on upgraded tickets only. 40K miles to Europe is a regular off-season price for coach.

There is a co-pay if you do the miles + money awards (a.k.a. special mileage awards) here

Thanks to San Diego 1K for a link to the chart I need ---- and I'm sorry I didn't proofread my OP . The award I just got for 40K was a RT UPGRADE (40e) to Business on a low cost fare SFO to CDG not an an award ticket. I can't believe how fast and knowledgeable you folks in this forum are. Thanks to all

Ah, that's good, I was about to say that you really wasted those old miles by booking coach awards to Europe. If you live on the West Coast, realize that the old miles will, IIRC, also get you upgrades from Y to F on the three-class transcons from LAX to JFK or MIA, and from SFO to JFK.
My old miles are even more of a treasure trove than I thought after reviewing Few Miles' chart. Example: Two RT First Class to Hawaii for 75k or RT Upgrade on BA sfo/lhr for 40k allowing use of miles to upgrade non-AA flight whick I don't think is available using new miles.
Now I just need to fight the availability battle. I had forgotten just how good the old days were when one phone call would confirm a seat using miles in any class with no additional payments for being in a 14 or 21 day window.
Until a few days ago I thought the value of old miles is that they did not expire -- big deal -- as it is so easy to keep new miles from expiring even with new shorter window on some airlines.

.
I doubt very much you will be able to do that, even with the old miles....
ANDRZE and DAYONE are absolutely right --- The 40F Award for BA upgrades no longer exists according to the AA PLT Desk. Thanks guys --- saves me wasted effort to plan for it and then have to change plans to AA or another airline
Apologies if this has been covered but I didn't find anything using search.
I have a substantial number of the old AA miles and was hoping to solicit some suggestions as to which awards might be the best way to use them. Here is the old award chart..
The 30A award jumped out at me because for 15k miles (2 upgrades for 30k miles) one can upgrade to First even on three class flights from any coach fare. HI is the only destination prohibited.
If they work to international destinations this would seem to be a complete no brainer, but even if they can only be used domestically jumping two classes when traveling between NYC and LAX or SFO looks to me to be a far better use for these miles than anything else.

domestic only, yes, but actually finding a staff member who can process an "old" upgrade is likely problematic.
the Hawaii free ticket awards are periodically mentioned here as a popular use of value.
Yeah, it took some educating to cash one of the 30A upgrades in a few years back. The first agent didn't even know what it was and the second refused to upgrade to First. We finally got it worked out with a wonderful agent who not only knew the rules but followed up with a confirming letter that the award was valid to F. I keep in handy for the next time.
The 20C upgrades full Y on SI to B but I wonder if it is still valid. Anybody tried?
