1. It's definitely not an AMEX statement, nor can you use it for AMEX only offers like through ticket master (I do have a skymiles amex that works, though I don't know why since I never fly DL anymore)
2.the miles post pretty good I guess. This is my first card with AA and AA flight miles don't even post for me until about 3 days after the flight.
3.I use the online payment on citicards.com and it posts the day I choose through bank transfer
4.I have a credit line of 10K on my citi AMEX, maybe it's because I don't have another citi AA card (just the stupid preferred rewards card that I never use)

Follow the links given in this thread. 25K bonus with either AMEx or MC (I got both -- hello, 50,000 miles )
You've got to stop thinking of a credit card as a device to get credit and spend on it. Nonononono.
1. Apply for the card.
2. Get the card.
3. Do the required spend
4. Get the bonus miles.
5. Put card in sock drawer.
6. When bill with annual fee arrives, mumble sonthing about plans changing and so on, and cancel.
If you actually have to have a credit card for spending (other than on things like airlines and hotels, where you use the co-branded card), find a card with a low rate or cash back and use that.
The collective insanity of the credit card business has made it a gold mine for scroungers like us; just don't fall into the trap of using them like they'd want you to.

This is great because I use three credit cards: 1)AA PLT CitiMC for most purchases; 2) Marriott PLT card for Marriott purchases and restaurants/airlines/rental cars (double points); and 3) a Costco Amex for Costco purchases. I always felt I was leaving money on the table when using the Costco card because I was not getting points or miles. Now, I can have it all! Thanks folks!

AA's agreement to issue AAdvantage cards is with Citi, not American Express. The card is issued by Citi. American Express has no involvement in establishing credit limits, billing, customer service, etc. Citi is merely using the Amex network for charge processing and to provide a few of the benefits. (Bank of America, HSBC, GE and various smaller banks also issue Amex network cards.)
By comparison, the Starwood Preferred Guest, Hilton HHonors, Delta Skymiles and JetBlue credit cards are issued and administered by American Express.
