Fair warning!
My Citi Business card now has a very short time between the date the bill is sent and when it is due. You can't take a 2 week trip and be OK. This cycle it was 10 days!

Citi AAdvantage (personal) MasterCard questions (consolidated)
Long story, I try to make it short.
When I moved to the US obviously I had no SSN so no credit history. So it wasnt even in question to ask for a Citi Card for a few months. I transferred my AMEX account to a US one.
After 4 months I applied online for a Citi AAdvantage Card and it was denied. Same for the LH MasterCard by Juniper.
So today I thought ok another few months passed lets see... but I didnt want to risk getting another denial for the regular card and applied for the Bronze.
It was approved with even quiet a high credit limit. Still dont understand how that system works but however, can I call Citi at one point to upgrade it to a regular Citi AAdvantage MC/AMEX and still get the bonus miles ?
Thanks,

FatWallet.com is your friend. Go to the forums and search for "Citi AAdvantage." You will get the encyclopedia!
The short version is, yes, you might be able to upgrade your Bronze card to a different one. But why not keep the Bronze card open and just open another card?
Remember, the more unused credit you have (lower percentage utilization), the better your FICO score will be. So, it is to your advantage (no pun intended) to open multiple accounts, as long as you keep the oldest accounts open the longest.

I'm lucky I got this one ! I dont know how many different ones they will let me open up.
The AMEX transfer seemed to be like courtesy of them to help intl customers.
For my first US MasterCard that helped me establish my credit score I had to lie on the application that I'm a college student (I assumed they cant have any score either and would be approved anyways - and I was right).
Oh well, the joys of modern life
Thanks for the info !
Edit: Question is solved, I applied for the regular one and got approved as well !

Reason: Done
Will my AA number, other's name on Citi AA card work?
Has anyone tried applying for the Citi AAdvantage card with their wife/friend/parents/siblings names as the cardholder, but your Aadvantage number on the app to take advantage of the opening bonus offers?
I was just wondering if anyone has tried
-- Do the miles post to your account with no problems, or does Citi/AA contact you and tell you the cardholder name and AA account name must match?
I don't consider it fraud b/c I get the other person's agreement, so Citibank's still getting a new cardholder, but oh well.
It's not fraud in the legal sense, exactly because you do get the permission. The rules of the AAdvantage (probably any other, as well) program make it fraud for them as they have rules about whose card earns miles for whom. You'll note that they didn't take legal action, they just took action within their FF program.

Just to clarify for anyone reading this thread (but correct me if I'm wrong, please), it's not fraud to have multiple cardholders with different names all "off" of one main account where the miles go into the main cardholder's AAdvantage acct.

That is perfectly okay.
Opening up a CC in the name of Mary Peterson and give Dick Peterson's AA account number on the application may not be fraud in a legal sense, but is a violation of the terms and conditions.
Why not just open the account in Dick's name in the first place? Unless he has bad credit.

What if my wife opens an account (she has excellent credit) but uses my AA acct #. I get an additional card as well (as a secondary card holder) Wouldn't that be valid then? Since, technically, I do possess the same Citi card?
